I passed an Alpha Romeo/Fiat dealership near Tampa yesterday and had some time, so I took a look at the new 4C. They only had one car inside the dealership and forget about a test drive. The car was over $70K with the 5K upcharge because according to the salesperson, only 700 are being sent to the US.
First, the car is beautiful. Great lines, very exotic looking. Reminds me a little of the Elise on steroids.

So, they let me sit in the car. Now I have read reviews of the car and that it was a challenge getting in and out of the car. Well, the reviews don't come close to explaining the contortions needed to enter and exit this car. You have to climb over the side of the car under the door and then enter into the seat. I will never complain about getting into and out of my lowered NSX again. The seats are like sitting in seats made of rock. They are the hardest, most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. The car was barren inside and of course, no manual transmission was available.

The trunk behind the mid engine is the side of a grocery bag. Forget about a small overnight bag. The salesperson told me you could remove the front hood for extra storage but you needed tools to do that and she had no idea how long that procedure took. Yup, you needed tools to remove it. In other words, the front storage area will never be used.

As I got into my NSX (easily) and drove away in my comfortable seats and voluminous trunk, I again realized how much I love this car!

You are right about the contortions. I find the seats fairly comfortable actually, notwithstanding the minimal padding. Most significantly, though, if you ever drive one, you will realize why people like them.

The only 4-c that I've seen up close was the one that hit the wall at turn 3 at Willow Springs (Big Willow) in CA. The other 4C at the track retired for the day after the accident occurred. The driver was OK, but the car did not look to good!
