I emailed this person and this is what the reply was.

Hi,
First of all,i must apologize for my reticence with selling my car.I
love this car and it means a lot to me.I am forced by a bank loan to
sell it.The loan does not involved her ,but i need the money and i must
do that. The car is like new ,in perfect condition, no marks or need for
additional repairs what so ever.It has no scratches, no special marks,
no need for additional repairs what so ever. The real miles onboard, a
great car ready to be yours. It has no accident or any engine problem.
I need to know you, even if that means by email or phone before i sell
you the car.Even if i seem a little paranoid,i will not sell this car to
anyone.I took very good care of her and i feel very attached to her.
The price is $15000 with shipping for free(if necessary in the
continental US),since my brother in law works at DAS,and he promised me
that it will cost me nothing to ship it to you.I don't want to offend
you by anything but if we are going to complete the sale we are going to
use Ebay Purchase Program which will cover the purchases up to 20,000
USD.Please also provide me with the following details necessary to take
a decision:
-your username
If you agree with my terms,i will need your name and address and i
will contact ebay to inform them about our agreement and to start the
program to protect us.If this is ok with you and you want me to explain
how the process works, please email me and i will do that.
Thank you and i will wait for your email.

Smells like a scam to me, what do you all think?

It just blew my mind that the law enforcements don't catch these guys

Look at the thread I started on this car :

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87200

I reported this to ebay Friday evening because Devin was out of town. Devin reported this later that evening and it is still listed !!!!!!!! WTF is going on over there. I used the live chat and it took 35 minutes to explain this. Ebay customer service and fraud protection is a JOKE !!

SCAM!

I just went through this same thing, but I had the help of a local NSXer to check things out. Buy from a reputable person under the correct conditions.

Good luck.

You're right but what upsets me is that ebay has done nothing about this after 2 reports.

The last 10 items I have bid on from ebay have all resulted in fake second chance offers - I report them to ebay, and ebay spams me with 5 FAQ emails each time, what's the point of reporting... It's buyer beware.

What's unfortunate is there are a number of people who are clueless and send cash to these people - take the preacher's wife, the one who shot her husband w/ a shotgun in bed and took the kids in the minivan - why did she do this? Apparently she fell for a nigerian scam, wiped out the familiy bank account, and was upset when the husband yelled at her for being an idiot.

Fraud. Name, address and etc can go along ways. Such as mail fraud, credit card fraud, you name it. They have some really simple schemes that work out with just that info.
For example in something a bit older, people would take that info, get a credit card, order a lot of things and get it shipped to that address. They did that with apartment complexes. They would scope out people who worked 9-5 jobs. Basically the scam was, get it shipped to their place and since they are at work when the package comes, they cruise by, pick them all up and leave. If the Credit card company traces the purchase, it goes to the victim.
Pretty straight foward and simple.
