Re: cost structure ?
Track rental for Laguna is in the 'almost $10K' range (note: summer Sunday)
- add staff and workers
- add emergency services (ambulance, tow truck)
- add INSURANCE (big $$ this year)
Barber MS is reportedly going in the $7500+ range / day, with bookings already in the 75% range (per recent C&D article). Peak-season pricing reportedly can hit $10K/day.
With 50 cars (3 run groups with 13 cars each) that's $200/car for track rental. Probably closer to $300 when you factor in workers/crew. Leverage off an experienced club's infrastructure (event management, insurance, etc) and you save a bunch.
Sounds like BMWCCA is the way to go
See this S2K thread about costs for their recent Laguna Seca event -- http://www.s2kca.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=553nsx1164 said:IIRC the PDE is a more pricey program than the typical "club" events... so I'm inferring that track rentals at this place are typically higher -- probably out of range for the small-ish test-n-tune / lapping day outing. Am guessing that its closer to a Laguna Seca rate than, say, a Motorsports Ranch rate.
