Anyone Else Watch the Barrett Jackson Auctions?

Don't know why I'm so interested in a car I'd not want but hey it's not every day you see one on TV. :)

Sold at $56k.
LOW for a 3000 mile car. too modified.

BJ is not the correct place to sell an NSX. wrong audience.

p.s with the 10% buyer's commission that works out to be $61,600 out the door.

Yes. The seller pays BJ 8% on no-reserve auctions if memory serves. This auction is all no-reserve because of it's popularity. So on that $56K sale:

BJ collects $5,600 from the buyer and $4,480 from the seller. The seller only netting out $51,520 minus costs to get it there and prep it for auction. MAYBE $50K. Like has been said, BJ is not the place for Imports...yet. In 20 years when all the baby-boomers are dead and teh Fast-and-the-Furious crowd has all the money...it will be very different. Low mileage and stock FD's, 300ZX TT's, Supra TT's and NSX's will be huge money.

The buyer is in for $61,600 plus transport out of there...not to mention the $500 it costs to just be a bidder.

It's fun to be there if you can. I've been twice now and it's a car-guy mecca.

BJ making over $10K on a $56K sale. Not bad.

The true litmus test on NSX's will be when Zanardi #28 goes under the hammer at Russo & Steele...

Just sold $68k, no action on it. Not sure it r and s is the right venue for it.

was it on reserve?

Yes, came off at $67k. Really no action. Russo and Steele is an auction best reserved for Euros and muscle. Probably would have done more at Gooding, strong overseas bidding would hit $80k for sure.

agree....BJ,mecum,RS ....are not the right crowd......RM, Gooding, better for an unmolested zanardi.

I also LOVE listening to those two brits who do most of the gavel work at RM and Gooding. The guys on the stand at BJ and Mecum give me a headache.

I'm thinking no auction is any place for a nice NSX. I don't even understand why guys try to sell sub-50K muscle cars at auction when you have the Internet working for you.

lol my wife can't be in the same room when I watch BJ or mecum ....says she gets all anxious and hyper.

I get slightly jealous when I watch them. To have a career being surrounded by your hobby and other passionate fans where you provide a service that won't go out of style and requires little to no inventory management or quality/warranty concerns would be too fun. :)

My buddy was there - sent me pictures of that NSX. Too modded for me and @ 6'4" I'd never fit in it. Plus, I LOVE my NA1!

Reggie Jackson bought the F-40 for $675,000. Announcers mentioned it was "wrecked heavily" and rebuilt

Was at Barrett Jackson last night.. grabbed some pics to post here

I didn't like the stereo setup behind the seat, the rear lower valence color match was off slightly but might have been the lighting in the "barn"

security lady was being a bitch and would not open the door for a picture

Here ya go

Was that the one on Fast and Loud (Gas Monkey Garage)?
Yes it was!

F1 Car went for near 2 mil. That would've sat nicely in my living room.
Interesting with all the tobacco advertising restrictions these days, how the Marlboro lettering had to be blurred. Ironically, I like your avatar
