The "power surge at 4000 rpm" post had me thinking, cause I have the same thing. I know I need to fix my rear o2 sensor, I also checked the service records and its time for the fuel filter too. Anyone have any advice, or heads up on this work?

-Replacing rear 02 sensor? (I can't find a good description of how to do it in the service manual. Chapter 11 has alot of info tho) Where should I buy the o2 sensor?

-Fuel filter - found that process, it looks pretty easy. Where should I get the filter and all the washers that need replacing?

-Throttle body cleaning - ppl mentioned spraying some cleaner in? Anyone got any more detail on exactly how to do this?

Thanks in advance guys - you rock.

Bump. In case any of you tech gurus missed this with all the other exciting discussion on this forum.

If you are asking how to remove the o2 sensor you shouldnt be trying to do it. All it takes is some liquid wrench and a box wrench.

I bought my fuel filter from Checker. It came with all the washers. Replacing the fuel filter and blasting the throttle with carb cleaner fixed my problem.

Had my mechanic clean the throttle body.... He opened the butterfly valve and sprayed inside with the car NOT running and wiped it out what he could with a rag. This was done as many times as was necessary to clean all the oil and gunk out. That which you cant get to with the rag will be sucked into the engine and burned up.

Note. The mechanic warned not to use too much TB cleaner as it will coat the O2 sensor and stuff it...

This fixed my surging problem without having to replace the fuel filter (outside of normal servicing) or O2 sensor.
