Another rumor for next gen NSX engine

Not true.

There is no new Acura "Accord". There is a new Acura, which will be called the TSX, not the Accord. The body is based on the European Accord. The drivetrain includes the 4-cylinder 160 hp engine from the base model U.S. market Accord.

I spoke with the sales people at the Acura booth in the Miami Auto show last month. They said Acura will be unvailing the new nsx at the New York or Detroit auto show. The car will have 400HP. This car will basically compete in price and performance with the Porche 911 Turbo. I don't know how reliable this informaion is.

Funny, I spoke w/ a guy thats a exec. @ Isuzu whom use to work for Acura, said they were not gonna make another NSX. His reasons were stated as: 1)They were no longer a leader in F-1 engine technology 2)Their other product lines were more profitable and their wasn't enough return on the investment. Remember, this is from a guy at Isuzu for what its worth.

It's possible; we don't really know.

However, those reasons would have been just as true six years ago, and ought to have been sufficient to kill the car then, rather than invest in the '97 upgrade, as well as the upgrade earlier this year.

I have faith in Honda that they will make 2nd gen NSX. We all know Nissan is building the next GTR, and Toyota is building the next Supra. So I really can't see Honda standing still and watch other companys take over the Japanese super car market without a fight.

I think They should stop making the NSX or limited it to order made. Someone mentioned that stop making it is big mistake.. I think making it is the big mistake.

1) honda should make the NSX a custom make order car which could enables Honda to make stronger engine.. since $ are prepaid in advance and very $$

2) will keep the NSX community and price , slow depriciattion

3)Hond can lower the risk of new model and lost of $ this way

NSX is tooo way many to be exotic in #s
and in price too. .and it still continues to drop. soon everyone will be driving this exotic on streets

I think all speculation is generally pointless and "I heard this from exec XYZ" type speculation is completely pointless.

Basically, no one will know what Honda is going to do until they do it. The naysayers who insist there is "no possible way there will ever be another NSX" would probably have been making the argument that "Honda would NEVER make an exotic" back in 1988.

All we can do is wait and see. Honda is probably just coasting to see how hard the new Skyline GTR ends up hitting in the US (assuming it comes over) and what Toyota's next move will be.

spookyp: agreed... only firsthand information from Honda/Acura is worth listening too, and there are so many sceptics saying "the nsx is dead" simply because it's been a while since it was worked on. U never hear people say "the 911 is dead" when they have to wait 7yrs...

NSXTASY: Any more news on the Gerbil-NSX-Engine???

Another information from German magasin.
Honda took an interesting move in developing next NSX.Yes, 3.5 V-6 3-stage VITEC,about 350 hp and 100hp electrical motor in the front.
All wheel drive with ratio rear/front 3.5:1,
good economy on part.throttle and 450 pones at "pedal to the medal".How about that?

So Honda is in the mood of introducing lots of new models named "any letter" SX and they are going to kill the N SX ?

Another "good" reason to keep faith in its future!!!
