Hello Fellow Primers.

I have searched and didn't really find what I was looking for, or when I thought I found it the thread just died off. So I went on a road trip this weekend and the car spent most of it in "Limp Mode". It sometimes would spit and sputter from 1500-3000 rpm then other times have no problem. TCS & ABS lights are on as well.

Now my question is, for the All Speed Sensor error, Do I really have to replace all 4 speed sensors? Or is it pointing to the TCS unit itself? And if it is just one speed sensor, will replacing the bad sensor deal with code 36?

Thanks for any advice.

Have you done the check procedure for code 36 covered on pages 19-102 and 103 in the shop manual?
The procedure checks the soundness of the connection, the PGM-FI ECU and the main ECU.

Took the words right out of my mouth! I was on page 19-102 in the manual, then flipped to the thread and saw your comment.

Just to clarify this is NOT an ODB code, but rather the TCS light is flashing this code, correct? If so, this really looks like an ABS computer issue, or the TCS computer issue. Also as a note of interest the wheel speed sensors are ALL routed through the ABS computer, and are fed into the TCS unit. Is the 36 code from the ABS or TCS?

BTW, this is not a very common issue, that is why response is slow;).

HTH,
