If you really want the nasty details here you go....About 3 months ago I put a clutch in a Infiniti I30, about a month later the customer called saying is was chattering at certain temps, I test drove the car at many different times and did notice the chatter, so then another month goes by and the customer calls and wants to get it taken care of, so last week I remove the trans and send the flywheel out to be resurfaced....after I put the car back together I noted a vibration/rough run at idle, Infinitis/nissans are very common to have idle rough run issues..this is monday...tuesday I spend most the day checking to see why the car idles rough..Injector function,vacuum leaks,coil function,power balance,EGR leaking,mixture ratio test,fuel trim alphas,fuel quality,plug wear,ect ect ect..after several hours of making sure the motor was running properly, so I didn't look like an ass when I tossed the machine shop under the bus, I then removed the trans again and tested the balance of the flywheel...it was totally screwed up....I then sent it back to them to fix their f#%kup and the wanted to charge us to balance/recut the flywheel...I told them that they were going to do it for free and when I was done putting the car back together I was going to drive it thru their front door at a high rate of speed.....so to sum it all up..we can't charge the customer for the machine shop's screw up and the machine shop told us to pound sand so I spent all day tuesday working for free...
