Aluminum Floor Jacks for Everyone!

Ken,

The 37# will fit in the trunk next to your 15" track tire (to the left towards the CD player, and the handle sits nicely on top of the jack not taking up any extra room. There was still room for my Craftsman big ass tool bag and all those sockets and stuff I carry out of fear of needing them, and then let all the folks without NSXes borrow them to fix their cars!

Ken- the griots jack which looks similar in size fits on the passenger floor but I prop the lighter end on the front of the seat with padding and fit a 225/45/16 tire on the pass seat. The jack is too long to fit on the floor with the seat full forward. If that 16,000$ jack comes in a black/yellow scheme I might be interrested

I keep all my other track stuff (brake pads, tools, manuals, fluids, etc) in a big Rubbermaid bin which occupies the rest of the trunk besides the 16" rear track tire. (I currently have a cheap compact hydraulic jack that fits on the passenger side floor, but I wouldn't mind getting a better one.) While I could put the jack in the trunk, it would mean a different solution for the rest of my track stuff. Maybe I can check out Gary's Craftsman tool bag the next time we're at the track together.

I can't prop the end of the jack on the front of the passenger seat because I have two track tires standing up on the passenger seat.

No, but it would probably fit in a good size duffel bag if you disassembled the handle.

You could easily remove the handles from either side which would make it smaller to pack and a little lighter (bonus!)

Ken - Have you looked into getting the appropriate sized tupperware bin that would fit in the area up front where the spare sits? I've see this done and if I didn't have my oil cooler/filter up there I'd do it myself for trips. Just replace your spare with a can of "Fix-a-Flat" for peace of mind and bungy the container to the battery hold downs.

The size constraint for keeping it on the floor is its length, not width.

No. It gets pretty warm up there behind the radiator. Might be okay for tools or clothing. But there are enough nooks and crannies in the interior that I have enough room for my other things.

When I go to the track and carry four track tires in the car, I leave my spare at home. Who needs Fix a Flat when you're carrying four extra tires around with you?

I think rm makes a nifty alluminum box that secures into the spare tire hold not sure of its dimensions though.
