Sounds good to me too. I'm down. I will have mines ready by then.. New year, new look, new sound, power. LOL:smile:

Could you post this in a few more forums? Wouldn't want the blind guy in Siberia on dial up to miss it. There already is a big annual NSX get together called NSXPO. It even has its own forum. An event of this scale doesn't just happen one weekend, especially when getting the cars there & back or driving cross country is involved.

Id like to see this thread actually turn into something, unlike the others ive posted LOL

IDEA: All NSX prime members/owners meet in LAS VEGAS
WHEN: this comming summer or next summer (depends on who/how many are interested)
PLAN: 2 days and 2 nights in Las Vegas.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN: a couple cool drives out in the deserted nevada highways, gambeling, fun, etc...

I am hoping to recruit the help of some of the Las Vegas prime members to give me a good Idea of a place big enough for all of us to meet. hopefully if there is a member there that likes to take his car to the track he can maybe make arrangements to reserve a day for nsx owners.

keep in mind this is an idea and I suppose I will need some kind of feed back to see if it is feesable to do this summer or next. I will post this on all regions message boards but since the event will take place in LV we can all look there for the majority of responses. I hope that works out.
what do you guys think
An event like this takes place every year, it's called NSXPO, takes lots of advance planning and usually involves the aide of the NSXCA, and strong support of the "hosting" region. I believe there's already been some interest in doing Vegas, why don't you try going through the already well established channels to get this done?

Roger I belive his sig says it best

As indicated above, we already do this every year and it is moved from region to region annually. Under your concept, you might get Las Vegas locals interested but I doubt anyone from further away will go to the trouble of trying to get their cars to Las Vegas for 2 days of drives and gambling. If you are looking for a Las Vegas national gathering, hook up with locals and get a committee to submit a proposal for NSXPO 2009.

See, not all threads have to be confrontational, everyone seems to be in agreement here, with the exception of the OP, he's also posted this same thread on each of the regional boards, and the responses have pretty much been the same. I guess the quickest way to have a NSXPO is to start an "online gambling site" to fund everyone's trip to Vegas, and you'll get no disagreement from anyone (j/K in case you don't get my sarcasm)

This is what the NSX Club's annual NSXPO event is all about.

Each year, right before NSXPO, a list of known NSXprime usernames registered for the event is posted (such as this one for NSXPO 2007 or this one for 2006). As you can see, a huge number of NSXprime members attend the event.

NSXPO 2008 will take place this fall in Portland, Oregon.

If you're interested in having NSXPO held in any particular location, you can put together a proposal to make that happen. Proposals are currently being accepted for NSXPO 2009; see this topic for more details.

Here are pictures that show the kind of turnout we get (thanks, Bob!):

Thoughts to consider.

East Coast vs West Coast.

Consider a site that is geographically opposite where NSXPO is held during the year, if possible. That makes an opportunity for all owners to attend at least one of the events.

The fact that it was posted in six different forums means that I'll stick to the one and only national NSXCA event; NSXPO!

I think it would be nice to have more than just NSXPO for meets. There is also the annual canyon drive that happens once a year. Well good luck and we'll see what happens.

maybe i was just thinking TOO BIG or too much. which rarly happens.
I am not a member of NSXCA because I was told those nsxpo events were to take your car to the track, among other things. I won't take my car to a track, unless its just to be a spectator. If im wrong then disregard, if im right then maybe there will be some of ous that just want to hang out in a bigger group more than once a year. sorry for any confusion. I guess I just wanted to plan something and see something happen....sigh....back to the drawing board
Past NSXPOs have offered the choice of either "track + non-track events" or "non-track events only".

In fact, you should join the NSXCA so that you can attend NSXPO this year, which is in Portland, OR, just a short 250 miles from Bellingham, WA.

and you think of this now!! lol it sucks that i cant make it from 2008-20??... whenever i decided to come back from Japan lol. takes lots of pics for me!

I don't track my car, if you look at the % of those that do, I'm willing to bet it's maybe 50% of those who attend a NSXPO. But as previously mentioned, join the NSXCA, participate and support your local region, plan lots of events, invite everyone, see who shows!!!

NSXPO usually consists of five days of activities. Three days are not related to the track; often these days consist of activities like group drives, technical seminars, indoor go-karting, tours of museums, meals together (with great food - well, maybe not always, but that's what we strive for), etc. The other two days are for the drivers school on a racetrack. You can sign up for one, or the other, or both. You are welcome to spectate at the track if you don't want to drive. RPM217 is correct; maybe half of those signed up stick around to drive in the track event, and most of the other half leave after the social activities.

Please come to NSXPO 2008, especially since it's in your part of the country this year. I think you'll find it's exactly what you're contemplating.

Don't get discouraged! The event you want already exists, you just have the wrong impression of it.

NSXPO isn't just a track event. (although i can see how you might think so since the track guys are very vocal)

We have been to 3 NSXPOs, and never tracked the car. The event is a lot bigger than the track days, and there is no mandate to participate in the track event.
There is a vendor day, seminars, a concourse, group activities, group drives, dinners, and all sorts of good fellowship with other NSX owners, and NSXperts.

My Avatar pic is from the NSXPO 2005 group drive- That event still ranks amongst my best experiences on 4 wheels.

Your enthusiasm is great, I think if you went to NSXPO 08 you would definitly be keen on 09 and beyond.

Philip
