Is there a seperate reservoir for the ABS as opposed to the convential side of the braking system?

Thanks

Thanks... can you point me in the direction of it in relation to the master cylinder? Is it the modulator reservoir?

Thanks Brian!

If you are trying to bleed the ABS system, Dan O's procedures are a great reference. I'd add a couple supplemental suggestions:

1. Get the Honda ABS Bleeder T-Wrench, Part# 07HAA-SG00100 if the $100 cost doesn't make you want to fall out of your chair. If it does, you can borrow mine for the cost of postage.
2. Remove the spare tire before you get started. You CAN do it without it, but its tighter that way, and you have to clean brake fluid off the tire then (ask me how I know).
3. Have a hose handy as you WILL get at least some brake fluid spray/spillage.
4. When allowing the pump to repressurize the system, I let it work for 5-10 seconds to avoid overheating it. It took me 4 or 5 cycles.
5. The orange nipple cover on my ABS system was slightly dry rotted. I had some extras from installing Speedbleeders at the same time and used them.

Thanks for the offer but I am not looking to do a full on ABS bleed. Just clean out the reservoir

If the fluid in the reservoir is bad, don't you think the fluid in the tubing and solenoids is probably in the same condition?

As opposed to DIY, of course you can always get your local Acura dealer to do it for something like 0.8 hrs labour plus fluids. I figured that beat paying $100 for the wrench. :)

My NSX tech recommended just pulling it out of the reservoir and holding off on doing the full bleed myself. Unfortunately he is 100 miles away or I would have him do a full bleed prior to my event on Sunday but thats just not going ot happen.

I guess you could do that, but I do not see why, just wait until you can bleed the system properly.

HTH,
LarryB
