air filter on Ebay

I’ve used a similar aftermarket filter for a few thousand miles. I switched back to the OEM filter because I did not notice any performance increase and I didn’t like cleaning and re-oiling the filter every few thousand miles. I also didn’t like the idea of an air filter allowing more derbies into my engine.

I have the UNI filter in the car right now. I paid $80 for it a while back. It filters great as far as I am concerend. The RamFX filter used to be a more common name on the import scene. I e-mailed the people and they were very responsive. I would take the time to do the same if you have concerns. Right now I use the UNI filter in the NSX and I am going to put in a two stage Amsoil foam (oiled like the UNI filter) in my IS300. If you are considering a high performance filter I would go oiled foam over K&N any day. Not just for sound but for filteration. Read the reviews on amsoil filters vs K&N. Or any oiled foam filter vs K&N.

As to DanO's reply, he is correct as far as I can tell. C-Tech claims 8 HP for their high flow filter box, and 4HP for the filter alone. Taken together, I will take the 4HP for $80 over the 8HP for $400 or whatever they want for their air box. The Ram FX filter works off the same principal as the UNI and the Amsoil. 2 stage filters with heavy high tack oil to trap the contaminants. Surface area appears to be king when speaking on filteration,... and the filter I just got for the IS300 is a full 1" thick all the way across... while the edges are 2" thick.

$15 is a steal for the RamFX filter (truth be told I was going to try and get one as a backup) seeing as how similar technology is used in UNI's $80 filter.
