Hi all:
My '97 A/C just started acting up. The inside and outside temp sensors are good, both the manual and automatic self checks seem to work, and if I set the temp to 60, it blows full blast and cold.
Problem is that if you set it to a normal temp, the A/C won't run or blower fan surges.
Anyone have similar experience / fix?
Ken

No expert here but it could be your thermostat. If that does not work it could be a relay as the blower fan is acting up. Check those out. :)

Most erratic A/C issues can (and often are) the fault of a bad CCU. BrianK can speak intelligently about this and can refurbish for a very reasonable price (assuming that's the issue). A/C issues with the NSX have been discussed on this forum ad nauseum. Use the search function. It's your friend!

Thanks Brett; as you can see from my number of posts, I don't usually go on the forum looking for conversation. I feel like a total doofus (sp?) because of the the thousands of threads, I can only see this month's. This is on top of having my 16 year-old Honda's climate system frustrate me. (waa). Pretty much came to the same conclusion about the CCA but the whole idea of the forum is to share info (except for illiterate insomniacs that should stick to porn). Sorry to log in without doing my homework but I tried.

Ken, apology totally unnecessary. There are a few particularly weak areas of the NSX (A/C, stereo and tail light gaskets) and I've had problems with all three. Fortunately, I have access to a great wealth of knowledge (this forum) and an awesome mechanic who knows the NSX inside and out. Good luck with your fix. Remember to update this thread when the issue is resolved so the rest of us can benefit. Regards, Brett
