I recently bought my dream car..NSX and just today my step dad f****en hit my driver rear quarter panel. I've only had the car for 3 weeks or so. I haven't even fully register the car, it still needs a smog check. Its been sitting on jack stand since I bought it. I've been trying to fix some stuff. Worst part is, I haven't even insure the car. Anyways, he scraped the area just on top of the rear tire. It has about 5 dents total...some are kind of crumbled and some looks like its not too bad. Luckily only the rear quarter panel is bad. My question to everyone is this....since its aluminum...is it repairable or will I need to get a new piece?

Just replace it. There are lots of good used fenders floating around that should be bolt and go, color match and all.

Cost wise, you may be better off finding a used piece here on Prime from someone who has done a widebody. Check with Peter at Downforce to see if they have a qtr panel available. Not many body shops are "experts" with aluminum so unless they come highly recommended from someone with an aluminum body repair then I would not trust any old body shop.

If you are very lucky, you may be able to find someone with the exact color and may be a bolt on and some polishing to match. Beauty of our quarter panels is that they are not welded on but bolted on similar to the front fenders of most/all cars.

Lastly, post a want to buy (WTB) ad in the parts section on Prime including your color preference if available. Location is key as it may get damaged with shipping.

Good luck.

+1
In my search for european quarter panel so many US people offered them to me, for very reasonable prices. You should have no problem finding one.

Just wish i could find one for myself:( I got dinged by a guy who ran away:frown:

Don't get all upset about it. $hit happens and it's just a fender. I'm sure your step father feels terrible about it. You can find a used one quite easily here.

If it makes you feel better, my sister backed up into my brand new 300ZX TT and destroyed the right rear quarter. It was my first new car purchase after graduating college.

Yes, get a used color matching panel.
I went the other way with autobody place and it was a nightmare.
They distroyed my car and my nervous system.
Its an easy step by step bolt in piece, just slow and easy.
You don't want to paint if you don't have to.
Sorry for your luck.
I was in my car sitting when I was backed into the passenger rear.

if your car is silver there's a local LA guy here on prime who's parting out the rear half of an NSX. I've bought parts from him. Good guy.

Even if your car isn't silver.. maybe you're willing to repaint.

Thanks everyone for your input.

Ryu, do you have his contact number? I saw his ad on craiglist once, but haven't seen it again.
