I was wondering if I could get some advice please. I'm contemplating buying a new 2019 NSX in Canada with carbon ceramic brakes. I spoke to the dealer and Acura is offering $15K Canadian discount and a lease rate of .99% through Honda finance. Being that we are halfway through 2020 and economy for super cars is rough, what type of discount is realistic at the dealer level. I will buy the car out after the lease expires in 36 months.
Thanks in advance. I'm a car enthusiast and this car exceeds my income level, but I am of the belief Honda is the one of the best engineered cars in the world. I hope I'm not getting in over my head with an expensive car to maintain.

I would say that you should get a minimum of $30-35K off on a basic car....Highly option car should be more, depending on the Dealer.

Good Luck.

Bram

Thanks for the advice. So to be clear, you think I should ask for $30-35K off dealer price? Honda has discounted it by $15K. I have never purchased a car in the price segment and I'm inexperienced. I don't want to come off as being cheap or unrealistic, but of course I want the car for a good price. This is a dream car for me. I've always been a huge Honda fan, I believe they build the best overall sports cars in the world.

Did you end up pulling the trigger, bmadnad? I am also in Canada and facing a similar situation to yours... trying to sort out what is considered a "good deal" and weighing new vs. used, lease vs. finance vs. cash, etc.

0.99% lease rate sounds pretty damn good, did you end up getting that deal with $15k+ discount on MSRP?

Thanks in advance for any advice that might help me out... :-)

I am bumping this thread up because I don't know how to start a thread with a new title. I found a NC1 in North Carolina, which the NSX specialist who has done most of the service on the car has assured me is pristine. I am having a PPI done anyway just to be sure. Anyway the tech specialist mentioned that the car has had a jb4 speed of science tuning box in it's past. He said that could void the engine warranty. The seller told me the tuning box is no longer on the car. My question is whether the fact that this car once had a tuning box, irrevocably voids the engine warranty. This would be a BIG problem for me. What thoughts do any of you have about this issue. Appreciate any input.

Regardless, if you import this NC-1 into Canada, Acura Canada will not cover warranty. (This is what it was for NA1/2).

Best bet is to check with Acura Canada.

I am sorry I didn't make clear that I'm in the US and buying a car from North Carolina. I am worried that the car had a tuner box on it at one time (jb4 no longer there)which the Acura specialist mentioned they know about; that if I ever have an engine issue in the future, I might have a problem with Acura saying that tuning box has voided the engine warranty. I know the Magnuson Moss Act requires that to void the warranty the manufacturer has to prove the offending modification resulted in the failure in the car. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a problem with Acura enforcing such voiding of a warranty due to a modification? Thanks again for any help or comments.

Sorry I never responded to this question... that’s embarrassing. Yes I did buy the car. Did receive the $15K off plus .99% and I will buy it out. Dealer gave me a fair deal on their negotiation.
Personally I would go new if you can. The warranty means something and this car really doesn’t need anything extra. Good enough for Honda good enough for me. It accelerates so fast you can’t even believe you will slow down when you enter a corner, but you do. In the States there are good enough incentives to warrant buying new in my opinion.
Best of luck

Congrats on your new ride. Thermal Orange... Can’t wait to see it. Post some teaser pics already!!

There are quite a few NA1/2 owners in your area (Ancaster, Stoney Creek, NOTL). You are lucky. Join us for coffee and drives next spring!! We meet up and start from Burlington from time to time.

PM your number and will add you to our cruise group. Cheers.

Hey guys, well I’ve had my car on the road for a couple of weeks now. I’m loving it even more. I got a ceramic coating a couple of weeks ago and it just looks that much more incredible. I live in Niagara and to the best of my knowledge there are only 3 new cars down here. I’m noticing people are loving this car. Makes me feel great because I know how special this car is. I’m sure whether any of you own a first gen or the second gen, these cars are even more special because you don’t see many of them around. I can’t imagine how special it feels to drive in a first gen. It’s a unbelievably special car. Still looks amazing. I’m looking forward to have a meet up with the other owners. Lots of great roads down here, also been on some great ones at the top of walkers line in Burlington.
