here u go ric
it was a difficult process to weigh the wheels since i dont have a standard weigh scale that you stand on to weigh yourself. instead i had to use a weigh hook that you hook on to weigh pieces of luggage.
it was difficult to get the wheels to 'balance' perfectly on that weigh hook to get an accurate measurement.... but i also weighed unmounted tires as well (accurately) so i think my results are fairly accurate.
i quickly weighed my 205/40/17s lying around and they are approx 15 lbs and i have my 265 18 inch lexus tires that weight about 20 lbs (for sure this is accurate); so i am assuming the 235 series tires weighs roughly 17 lbs.
APPROXIMATE weights
17x7 with 205/45/17 tire (approx 15 lb tire) - 31 lbs. hence 17x7 wheel approx 15 lbs
18x9 with no tire - 20 lbs (weighed this twice, first time it said 23 lbs
17x8 with 215/45/17 tire (approx 17 lb tire) - 35 lb, hence 17x8 wheel x ~~~ 20 lbs
18x10 with stupid 235 series tire from previous owner - 40 lbs - 23 ish pounds for the 18x10 wheel.
hence from my findings
the advan 5s are roughly 15-23 lbs in the 17x7" ---> 18x10" inch category.
these are
APPROXIMATE but should give the majority of potential buyers a good idea of how light they are. for those who are anal and want EXACT wheel weights; i apologize.
these wheels are ridiculously lighter then my 17x8 18x9 work 3 piece wheels (mounted on tires); if you are in decent shape you can pretty much hold each advan 5 wheel with one arm (with tires mounted)
for the performance purists i believe the advan 17x7 (215/40/17) + 18x9 (255/3518) setup is the lightest wheels that you can get while still looking sexy+staggered; as many here have stated the model 5 17/18 inch wheels are pretty much the 'biggest looking' wheels in its size category.
hope this helps
How lite
? Please weigh the wheels and let me/us know. You have 17/18? If they are close to RSII weight, I will consider buying a used set of advan....if Synth wants to sell his one day
