#AcuraNSXOnTour

I only took a handful. They wouldn't show us the engine bay.

One of the local primers took this one of the interior. That's my leg in the picture. The steering wheel does feel like an r8, the seats have high bolsters

The steering wheel is exactly the same as the one on the Acura website that has been shown for at leat 6 months. The only difference is the silver paint is now carbon fiber. My guess is this will be an option. Look richer with the CF!

Admittedly, I've not seen the car in person, but having seen pics and vids of the final product now, I'm not nearly as enamored as I hoped I would be. Maybe it will grow on me...especially after the performance numbers are announced...

Anyone else feeling the same way?

Go show the pictures to 10 random people and ask them which one they like better.

You know you've lost your cookies when you start to claim an evolutionary link between the two generations. I literally laughed out loud at the absurdity. Go show the cars side by side to ten people and ask them if it's "evolutionary" or if they see any relation at all. [emoji23]

This is exactly what my thoughts are. They should call it the new CLX sports hybrid rather than the new NSX. Completely different car.

I agree: no lineage, don't deserve the name. Call it something else like NSZ or whatever just get it off the hashtag NSX so I don't have to see it when I look for real NSXs.

Isn't there a separate thread for bashing the new NSX?

Seriously, a psychiatrist would have a field day with you lot. The new car is going to be superior in every measure of performance over the old one and you guys think it doesn't deserve the name? I loved the original car too, had two of them when I was in my 20's, but it doesn't hold a candle to any modern sportscar. This new car, if anything, brings the NSX name back into the conversation when it comes to modern day sports and super cars. It will elevate the NSX moniker to a higher echelon than ever before.

Forgive me for being blunt, but there's so much fear and loathing on this board and one can't help but wonder if it's borne of fear that the new car relegates the old car (your car) to irrelevance.

I for one can't wait to get the new NSX, and welcome any warm sentiments it may evoke of my experiences from owning two examples of the original.

I can only hope it evokes moist sentiments for me....

Go do it. I bet they find the comparison to be sound. I've already shown it to more than 10 random people. They see the resemblance and most didn't even notice they were looking at Acuras but definitely saw the age in the first gen, even when lowered and with modern wheels.

If you don't like it, then you like the rest of the minority of upset first gen owners should cherish your current NSX and seek other cars as replacement. No need to keep whining buddy. We get it, you don't like and it looks nothing like you expected. Move on. There's plenty of people excited for the car in this thread.

Not exactly...

Now that the car is out, there are still views of the car that are just "meh" to me. For example some of the front views, especially when up close, it appears thick, heavy and bulbous and not very sleek. But stand back a bit or view it from the rear three quarter angle and everything changes. From there, I think it looks better than any current car out available, exotic or otherwise.

To be honest it leaves me rather indifferent. Even seeing the real model in Geneva, didnt provoke a "I NEED THAT" reaction in me. Maybe it will grow up on me over time but at the moment i am perfectly happy with mine :)

The cars are in winter park today and heading back to Denver sometime today. Don't know if they are overnighting at the same Honda facility as last week or not.

There you go again trying to squash ANY criticism of the new car but I'll keep voicing my opinion even if you and others don't like it. Sorry if you only want to read things that affirm your own views and good for you if you are excited. You can bet I have moved on but it was your usual ridiculous kiss ass comments that drew me back into the fold just like previously. Seriously how much does Acura pay you to troll this forum and praise this car, haha. If I feel like saying something on my mind about it, I will. No need to keep telling me to stay out of your NSX 2.0 circle jerk, I stay out of here willingly.

lol on the circle jerk...........now I'm someone who wants to own this car..the exterior is ok in pics....I just hope the interior feels and looks more exotic then I'm seeing in these pics.

Can you please name atleast 3 of the resemblance from the comparison based from your 10 random folks? Don't get me wrong it is a nice sports hybrid car and probably packed with technology and performance but it's not an nsx. If think Corporate financial folks from Honda figured out that by naming this car an NSX 2.0 that it will generate public interest and sales. Meanwhile true car enthusiast will argue that the current NSX actually has a heritage and a soul. Really?? Mid 80s Honda commissioned the prestigious italian automobile designer Pininfarina to work on a super car called the HP-X Honda Pininfarina eXperimental. (Pininfarina is the same company that designs Ferraris including the F50 and Enzo, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Fiat, GM, Lancia, Maserati, BMW, to name a few) The HP-X led to the development of the NS-X New Sportscar eXperimental by Honda chief designer Masahito Nakano and chief engineer Shigeru Uehara. Bodywork design and visibilty is taken from an F16 fighter jet and its cockpit. The NS-X was designed to showcase new automotive technologies many derrived from Honda's succesful F1 motorsports program. it featured many first in production car such as all aluminum body, alloy frame and suspension, abs, eps and VTEC. Track development by respected Japanese F1 driver Satoru Nakajima, chassis & suspension tuning by 3 time F1 world champion legend Ayrton Senna and 2 time Indy 500 Champion Bobby Rahal also help develop the nsx. The NS-X name was adopted as NSX for the production car.

I'm sure many of you will not agree with me but after owning a Legend, Civic Ex, Civix SI, RSX and of course an NSX - also a CBR600 I know when it is not a Honda.

Ummm , Getting back to the current topic here – does anyone know what city they were in today? Trying to figure out if they're going to be in California tomorrow…. Tnx!

Source? Denver seems like the wrong direction for the cars to be making their way to CA...

I spoke in person in winter park with a man wearing a miller motor sports tshirt who said he worked for Honda. He was standing in front of a dark colored 911 turbo s and white Audi R8. He said the nsxs were currently out driving around and they were going to rendezvous and drive to Denver. He then hopped in the 911 and some other folks joined him in the two cars and they went off. The two cars had Ohio temp tags. This was at about noon MST on 7/22/2015.

Thanks for the intell, even though it doesn't sound like good news :-(

I'm not here to flex on who has driven and experienced more Hondas, but I've got you beat on ownership experience and time behind wheels or ontop of seat of various Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, etc, (the list can go on for very long) given my profession and lifestyle. I can sit here and beat the dead horse on how the new NSX resembles the old and how it doesn't. I've done an extensive study personally and publicly. If you or other diehard NSX/Honda fans don't see it, then so be it. I see what I see and others see what they see. The fact is the new designers respected the old design and paid plenty of homages to it. They've all gone on the record and said it.

And the truth is design is art and it's never going to be universal like science is which is essentially irrefutable once proven. There is no song or painting that everyone likes and the closest ones are consider "pop" and cars like the NSX do not fit in that category. It's no wonder Honda is not giving special treatment to current NSX owners -the majority of them seem to expect a $60K car that looks like a $200-300K Ferrari/Lambo and expects it to mop the floor with them.

Most of the criticism that I've seen are more from old school Honda fans that have bad taste in their mouth from recent turnouts instead of actual quantified logic as to why they don't like it. I'm just telling you to show the picture to random people and ask them which one they like better. That can be quantified and it will show that the new NSX will garner more votes.

I'm not squashing your criticism. I respected your opinion before, tried to reason/debate with you logically, and I've never tried to insult you. I didn't tell you to get lost -others like SilverSebring did. If you take it personal, than that's your problem, not mine. I'm just telling you to be more constructive with your posts instead ranting on and on about how you dislike it. You know the guy at the party that's a debbie-downer -Look in the reflection of the screen you are viewing right now.

You have to admit that if you try to photograph the first gen NSX upclose or pretty much any car, it looks funny and distorted. I think cars in motion from far away coming up closer to the eye to the way to properly experience the form.

Which is not completely crazy given the 1st gen delivered that precisely. Also 1st gen was following to the letter the spirit of Honda at the time which was to do light weight, nimble cars that were driver centric. The new NSX seems quite heavy, and the design lines give the impression of a much bigger car than it is. When seeing it in person, i am far from wowed, as compared for instance to an Aventador or the small McLarens (just random examples). I didnt sit inside yet so i cannot comment on wether the "f16 cockpit" feel is still there or not...
