Anyone been following this hashtag on twitter or facebook? It looks like they are driving two new NSXs all around the country - I guess they were in Chicago today? Does anyone have a schedule of roughly when they plan to be where?

New NSX in Chicago

They will be in St Louis next with a lot more places to be following(when in Atl I will make sure that there will be plenty of pics and vids taken)

If Ted Klauss or any of the Acura folks are reading Prime and want to coordinate a showing in the Washington DC area, I invite them to reach out to me and I would be happy to assist.

Unicorns run in OK....

Just a few pics from OK

Probably best they do it incognito like they are. If this was announced here in LA it would be a complete disaster and the potential for bad press from all the things an overcrowded, testosterone filled, teenage crowd can bring, would simply not be worth it.

They way they're doing now still achieves all the social media hype w/o the risks.

Hope to see it in person soon. However, I can't help but feel the car is already old. We've seen so much of it. I can only take blue balls for so long...

This 3/4 front pic right here should bring people into reality about how modern the new NSX looks compared to the one made over a quarter century ago... While the first front view shows the evolution and relationship of the two.

I, for one, don't see much of a family resemblance. Even the red looks different.

I think it depends on what you are looking, small details and big picture. The front wedge shape for both is a dead nod.

I didn't like it much before, but I love it now!

This so called "tour" appears to be an attempt to tease everyone in order to increase interest and demand for the car. It's by design that they're not sharing with us the places and dates. People are more likely to want something they keep hearing buzz about from their peers, yet are not allowed to have (or even see in person). It's analogous to how when facebook or gmail first launched they were invitation only, yet we kept hearing buzz about these services anyway.

^^ I guess you can look at it cynically or favorably. I'm just happy they're trying something new with their marketing. The marketing strategy was horrible the last 5 years. I still remember those awful extremely nerdy Honda ads only an accountant would love. The Acura ads I don't even remember... They were truly forgettable.

The more straightforward answer would be that these cars are still preproduction, and still need bugs worked out. Therefore there is no way to keep to a set, published schedule. This way, they can take care of any issues that arise without having to publicly cancel or delay any planned appearances.

If it were solely about working out bugs then they wouldn't have started this whole #AcuraNSXOnTour thing. It's clearly more of a marketing exercise, although I suppose it may serve a dual purpose of helping to identify some additional bugs too. They may also be interested in hearing comments from people on the Internet so they can make further minor aesthetic tweaks.

There's nothing cynical about believing it's mostly marketing designed around the idea of teasing the customer in order to increase anticipation and desire. I know if they showed up at the Honda dealer a few miles from my house and I didn't learn about it until afterwards it would likely make me want to see the car even more badly. I only call it a "tour" in quotes because I don't think showing up at a Subway, Bob Evans, or Honda dealer's parking lot somewhere unannounced qualifies as a tour, at least not from the customer's perspective.
