Libertyville is a farther northwest suburb. Public transportation won't get you there, but a limo would for probably $50 or so.

It's about a 45 minute drive for me, but there are other folks closer to that area. Actually nsxtasy might be pretty close...

PM me if you can't find anyone else.

You know, you can often turn up a lot of information using the "search" function here on NSXprime. If you had searched on "Libertyville", you could have found a complete report on the 2003 silver car.

Yes, but...

The only reasonably fast way to get there via public transportation from O'Hare is to catch the O'Hare people mover to the O'Hare Transfer Metra stop on the North Central Line (DON'T follow signs for the CTA subway to downtown Chicago!), take the North Central Line on Metra to the Mundelein station, and then catch the Pace 572 bus which goes right past the dealership. You'll find a schedule for the North Central Line here, and a schedule and map for the Pace 572 bus here.

However, the North Central Line has service ONLY on weekdays, and even then, outside of rush hours, service isn't all that frequent on either the train line or the bus line; if you don't hit either one at a convenient time, you could be waiting quite a while for the next train or bus.

Basically, you are MUCH better off either (a) renting a car to go to the dealership (if you can drive it back to the airport), or (b) taking a cab or limo from the airport. If you have already concluded a deal and you are picking up a car, the dealership would probably be willing to send someone to pick you up, or would at least reimburse you for the cost of the cab/limo.

FWIW, in case you're interested in noodling around with Chicago-area public transportation websites... The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is the umbrella organization over the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) (city buses and subways), Metra (suburban commuter trains), and Pace (suburban buses). There's a trip planner on the RTA website but it has trouble recognizing the dealer's address (it keeps trying to plan a trip to the south suburbs, while Libertyville is 40 miles north of O'Hare). If you ask it to plan a trip to Hawthorn Center, a mall in Vernon Hills half a mile south of the dealership, it does a somewhat better job. Not as good as you can do by looking at their maps, but somewhat better.

The silver sounds super nice, interesting that they certified the yellow one even though its been in an accident. Either way I would think that with the flooring cost involved for 3 NSXs and the book value about to change(end of FEB) these guys would be very motivated to make a deal. I continue to be amazed how these cars move around considering it was registered in SD and then winds up at this dealership without going through an auto auction. However, comming from SD it does have some appeal since it may have only been driven a couple months out of the year.

Thank you so much NSXTASY. But thats not the car I was refering to.

Its a 2003 silver with 5k miles. The vin# is 000112 - The link you gave me months ago was a different car #000089

They just got this car in and it was just posted. No pictures yet.
Wow, that's odd! 57 silver 2003 NSXs built, and this dealer is selling two of them, just months apart!

Talk with them about the cars and see what you can find out. If you're seriously close to buying one from them and you need a personal inspection to clinch the deal, LMK and I'll drive up there and take a look.

This is a great dealer and they often have two of the same thing. When I bought my car from there they had an 05 same colour combo sitting on the floor. Also if you buy a car from them the taxi ride from the airport is expensive and they won't pick you up:biggrin:

 Sheeesh, at the dealership I work at we pay for customer's local flights and they may only be buying a $30k-$40k car.

Tell you what... I'll kick in $25 for the limo. Even at modest hourly pay rates Ken, that was a $25 answer you gave.

Yeah I was surprised at that as well ,but I bought it for such a low price I wasn't going to complain about a $40 cab ride:wink:

For cab service, American Taxi has lots of cabs between all the suburbs and the airports. Their flat rate between O'Hare and Acura of Libertyville is $34 (it's $58 from Midway). You can reserve them in advance and they will meet your flight.
