Acura LMP1 for ALMS

Acura might be concidering entering the LMP1 class for the ALMS. I overheard during the 24 hours of Le Mans race that they were thinking about this so they could try their hand at the 77th running of the 24 hrs of Le Mans.

When we were at the Sebring 12 Hours ALMS the word was that they would do an LMP1 car next season and the speculation was that the car would be driven by Gil De Ferran who joined the Acura lineup later this season.

Would they have to go with a V12 for LMP1? I will be at the Petite Le Mans this year maybe I can see if any new news pops up(though we will probably have a good Idea by then)

This year or next? The schedule for this season was announced earlier and we have not been told about next season yet.

sounds good, that will be cool seeing acura in lmp1 and honda is supposed to be doing it big next year in f1, 09 should be a good year for honda/acura fans:biggrin:

Yes, they are doing sebring, lime rock, mid-ohio, road atlanta and laguna seca.
