Accel. Cable/Throttle Wire Broke....HELP

Hey guys,
The other day I was driving(shifting normally) when all the sudden I lost all pedal pressure on the gas. It just hit the floor, but the car was idling. Turns out that the cable that runs from the gas pedel to the throttle had snapped right by the throttle.
Anyways, I ordered a new part, got it and now that I've been trying to install it, it seems very tricky. Do I need to remove the entire center console?? Man, this is soo annoying!!

The service manual does not go into any detail. If you have not started the project at the time of this reply, I would suggest you "securely attach" the new cable assembly to the old, and pull the new through the same path as you remove the old in a passive (don't yank if snagged)approach.
