The other day I heard a pumping noise from the front end, by the time I got out to check, it had shut off. Yesterday I heard it again and then the ABS light came on. I was close to home so I pulled in to the garage and noticed I had a small puddle of brake fliud on the ground. Anybody had this happen to them?

James,

You have the infamous "stuck abs selinoid" The reason you see brake fluid is because with the stuck selinoid, you will get "back up" pressure in the ABS reservior and it will actually overflow out of the cap. I am sure if you check you will see the top of the ABS reservoir is wet.

This is mainly due to lack of use of the ABS. I would guess you had some reason recently to brake hard, the ABS kicked in, and now you have an abs light after 30-60 seconds of the pump going on and not being able to pressurize the system.

Good Luck,
