The other day I was leaving my house, had the A/C on, as usual here in S/W Fl, then it just quit! No lights on the control panel, no blower, etc. I drove 2 or so mi., got out of the car, after some choice words, shut the car off, completed my mission, got back in to return home, it worked. I thought it may be just had a bad fuse. Lazy, didn't check. Two days later, left for the beach and it worked as normal. After spending a couple of hours at the local watering hole, got back in to go home, it was inop again.
This is a 92', GPW, with 23,000 mi.. I have owned it since Feb 06'. Second owner. The original owner did NO Service bullitens. I realize I have alot of them to take care of, as things are starting to happen. Two of three speaker amps have gone bad, trans, IS, in the range, visor is split, timing belt is old, window thingies haven't been changed. While i'm there, I am going to change the door latch mechanisms so I only have to open the doors up once, as I have read they break as well. I have Brians address to send all three amps to. I will change the belt, w/p, idler, hoses, cam cover gaskets etc. in the near future, as soon as I have the finances to purchace all parts necessary and they are in hand. I also have purchased like new wheels from a 96', they are being painted at this time. I assume from what I have been reading on this site for the last year, that American Honda will do nothing as far as any kind of warrenty. Pay parts or labor, in part or total. I hate to say it, but our local dealer sucks. No help, doesn't care. NSX mechanic is a real good guy, but you have a real hard time getting to him and he is up to his ass in alligators. The car was described to me by a long time owner / enthusiast at the NSXPO in Sebring, "immaculate".
Does anyone have an idea what may be wrong with the A/C? I have read that there has been many A/C control problems and the same person at the NSXPO that described my car as above, said there that there was a history of them, but at the time, I had no probems.
