While driving the car vibrate a little like having warped brake disc. Didin't hit any water puddle and it was not raining. Very noticable when the a/c is on. Also black smoke coming out from the a/c vent and the rear view mirror is slightly tinted black by it. No noticable rise in temperature from the dash board. No black smoke coming out from either the engine nor the exhaust. Will check the coolant level as well as the oil level once the engine is cooled.

I am very worried. :frown:

Had it check after work. No leak. Can't explain why there was black smoke coming out the vent. No smoke afterward. Still bugging me is the driving. There is still that noise like brake pad scraping to the disc. Louder is higher speed but can't be the wheel bearings since they were already replaced recently (rear ones). I will bring the car again to be inspected at the alignment workshop. Hopefully nothing major cause I really wanted to get the 02R wing. :frown:

Jin,

A slighty warped disc rotors will only give that vibration under braking. If the sound you're talking about is like metal grinding, most probably you have a worn brake pads. Because worn brake pads will give that sound and a vibration under braking.

I am not sure what may have caused that blake smoke though, but please drive moderately before getting it checked. It might be dangerous.

I also hope that it ain't something major. So that we can order that DF-R wing together

Cheers

did it smell like anything?

burnt wires?

i dont see how "rotor" smoke can make it into the cabin.

Will bring it to the shop today. Hopefully nothing major. When are you ready to order the wing? I may be able to do it if I get paid this week.

Funny thing is I didn't smell anything just the rear view mirror getting darker and darker from the soot. Maybe you're right some burnt wire or maybe insect. Brought it to a very respectable aircon shop, they said compressor still working fine, no leak and didn't even charge me anything for the test as I promised to get my aircon service this month at their shop. Aircon is working fine today no more smoke but still have that grinding/scratching noise at higher speed (i.e. 100+ mph)
