A bit of a mis-hap yesterday... >:o(

As far as lacking the proper education that so sorely need as you put it, I have plenty thanks...

I was just voicing my troubles with such insurance companies like Progressive... and its more in an effort to caution all the other prospective progressive customers.

I am getting what i want out of this deal, although it really wasnt my fault that the insurance company did not communicate what they were going to cover item by item to the body shop. (including the stripping of the bumper)

I filled out a claim, and as progressive does, they come to YOU rather than you having to drive your wrecked car to them. Now I dont know what the harm is in this, but maybe you see something inherently wrong with this. Don't know why.

Anyways, the estimate he gave me was minus my deductible... and i asked what would happen if there were more charges that would be covered, and he informed me that all that had to be done is connect the insurance company with the body shop. That was done, even tho i had to get everyone's boss involved.

NSXJunkie,

Thanks for sharing your woes -- your description of your problems will doubtless help other members of our community who run into a similar situation. The beauty of a forum like NSXprime is that it can provide a wealth of NSX specific information, which can be used as a future resource to the reader. I, for one, try to learn something from everyone's experiences.

I think its important that everyone feel comfortable sharing and posting their experiences, even if, in hindsight, things could have been handled differently. There's an old saying: those who refuse to learn from the past are condemned to repeat it. BTW, I happen to be a lawyer -- may I suggest that your experiences with the company you mentioned are all too typical of the insurance industry in general? They love to collect premiums, but they sure have trouble on the other end...
