And I don't mean the music group.

 Goodgawd!! It's expected to be almost triple digits in Phoenix for NSXPO week. Heck, it's expected to be almost triple digits for the entire month of October.

I'd better pack accordingly.

On a related note:
1) Shorts and t-shirts are acceptable attire for the track event, correct?
2) Is water available at the track event, for free or for purchase? Or do we need to lug our own?

What weather service are you checking? Or are you checking Phoenix proper? I checked weather.com this morning out of curiousity for Paradise Valley & Scottsdale and it showed 94 for Thursday & Friday, and 93 for Saturday with lows in the 68-69 degree range. Sounds perfect to me! The headquarters hotel is basically in the Paradise Valley area which is slightly more elevated and cooler than downtown Phoenix.

Remember it is a DRY HEAT! Really that does sound pretty good to us AZ locals who know what the real heat is like. You'll probably be suprised at how comfortable you find it especially with the low humidity. It really does make a difference. And the evenings will be AWESOME!

Now the track is a different story. It doesn't show predictions for those days yet, but that will be closer to the Phoenix area temps that you'll find.

Water (and lunch) WILL be provided to track and autocross participants. Spectators not signed up to drive in either of those events will not have water provided. However, there are several stores and restaurants very close by for drinks & food.

Exactly one week away from today!

If you think the mid 90's sounds good, it is probably because the 110+ temps you guys get has fried your brains

I am also curious to know if shorts will be ok for the track, because a black car with a black interior is gonna be blisteringly hot! We'll have to remember to put tape or something on the branding irons in the pre '93s. Or is it the pre '95s?

Steve

...and that's not including the heat generated from your Death-star NSX!

hehe... game over man, game over...

I used both weather.com and accuweather.com for "Phoeniz, AZ" and checked both the 15-day and month long estimates.

If it's anything like Las Vegas dry heat, I'm still gonna get toasted. :D Hot is still hot to me.

BTW, is there any source of shade during the track event? As for the available water......EXCELLENT!!!

Don't worry Randy. According to The Old Farmer's Almanac all will be perfect:

September and October will be cooler and drier than normal.

You may want to bring a sweater.

(And don't forget the sunblock! )

It’s not heat, it’s the humidity, at least that’s true for Orlando what ever the weather, I wish, I could attend

There will be some shade available at the track event. We'll have a couple of tents up in the paddock/parking area nearby the autocross event with chairs. Plus there is some shade at the track most of the day behind the bleachers (which are located between the paddock area & the drag strip/straightaway portion of the track).

It really should be quite comfortable weather for most people. For those who haven't experienced low 90's with virtually no humidity, it really is pretty pleasant. Probably comparable to upper 70's - low 80's in Florida or pretty much anywhere else really that has quite a bit of humidity (most of the midwest, east coast in the summer).

Some may want a sweater or jacket in the evenings, but I think that's the best time of the day with a nice nip in the air!

All NSXPO 2005 NSX Driving School participants, ProAuto Sports will allow the following attire while driving on the track: Short Sleeve shirt, long pants.
No shorts will be allowed on the track or in the hot pits. Socks and sneakers or driving shoes will be required. Sandals will not be permitted.

98 is still d**n hot! You AZ folks may love it, but we San Franciscans don't! Spring Training weather is wonderful weather in Phoenix, but not the rest of the year, but I'm glad you like it.

Remember, if we were all the same, the world would be a very boring place.

We've spent some time up in the San Francisco area since I was born in Petaluma and we'd (Understudy and I) both equate 98 in Phoenix at this time of the year to 88-90 in P-town. Of course it isn't even scheduled to be 98 at the headquarters hotel, only a *balmy* 93-95 from Thursday-Sunday. The Prescott drive on Sunday will be great for everyone's taste, it is forecasted now with a high of 77.  AZ folks, bring your parkas for this trip!

We're probably a bit heatsoaked after the whole summer so it really does feel nice now (93 in Tucson today!), so please forgive us.

Heather, maybe the heat has some type of effect on you? You used nice and 93 in the same sentance

I flew into Phoenix around 1PM today. It is hot, period. It's only a "dry heat" because it's too hot for water to exist. Haha. See everyone next week!

I beg to differ.

I just spent a chilly week in Buffalo New York, and flew back to Phoenix today.

The weather here is perfect. The weather in New York was way too cold.

It's all a matter of personal sensitivity. But I think most people will be very comfortable next week.

PS - it's going to be a cold day in hell before I return to New York. I couldn't believe the 65 mph winds, the really chilly temperatures. It's so nice to be back.

Welcome to AZ Lud!!! You should have come into Tucson where it's nice and (relatively  )cool! Those poor Phoenix residents typically have to deal with 5-7 degree higher temps than us down in the old pueblo. We'll see ya soon up there!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm up north a bit now (and also picked up a few thousand feet altitude), where it really IS perfect weather - upper 70s, maybe low 80s. See ya soon!

I thought you had a layover in Phoenix. Did you actually stop in Phoenix?

If so, and you're around over the next few days, give us a holler. We could meet for dinner or some drinks.

PHX was my destination airport... then I drove up north to visit the Grand Canyon, etc. I'll be back in Phoenix for NSXPO.

Maybe I will try and bring some of the PERFECT NW air with me on my drive down this Tuesday! HAHA!

As long as it is under 100 degrees I am good, lol I could use a little reality check after being adjusted to the 70s!

AZ baby! Here I come!

Seth, we still haven't all voted on whether to let you back into the state after your desertion of us.

Glad the weather is treating you well up in OR right now, just wait until the winter though.... you'll be wanting some warmth. We'll come visit you for the skiing/boarding though!
