I am researching this for a freind of mine. We do a lot of autocross racing. The other day when running his 95 nsx I realized that when turning left that the inside wheel would spin. I thing this may be a differencial fluid problem but am not sure. The car has low mileage and has been taken care of.

Have any of you had this problem? What fluids do you recomend?

If he is running the stock suspension with R compound tires, then it is rather easy to spin the inside rear tire on tight corners with heavy throttle. The only way I know to handle it is to use aftermarket sways and shocks/springs or install a 1.5 way limited slip differential, or baby it a little from apex to track out.

Jeez, just now noticed this thread. Sorry!

The answer you seek is in the FAQ. Excerpt taken from the "Gears" section:

...To make a long story short, after just opening up the gearbox and taking our time, my mechanic and I were able to figure it all out. It turns out that the extra spring plate is added to the Type R differential to increase the preset torque in the differential pack, in order to decrease the likelihood of inside wheelspin (for example, when exiting a corner such as Turn 11 at Mid-Ohio). [Note: Later model NSX's ('97+ ?) do not need this due to a new "torque-load" differential] The different Stopper Plate is necessary to provide extra room for the additional spring plate without increasing the stack height of the assembled clutch pack. Once these two parts were installed, the Preset Torque went from 52 to 105 lb-ft (as measured in the vise). For any that are interested, the specifics can be found on pages 15-3 and 15-4 in the '92 Service Manual...

Hope it helps. I noticed wheel spin in the inside of my NSX during a right turn this year at the track. Once the diff locked it was like a rocket but until then I felt like I was in a Miata.:(
