When I got this car a year ago, it only had 9,000km on it. The person told me he put in new oil [didnt say which]. So I did not do an oil service until around 13,000km [an usual 4000km oil change] and found out the engine oil, brake fluid were both in really bad condition, so I was glad that I didnt wait any longer for them to be changed.

So, according to the Acura service schedule, there is a huge list of items to be inspected/replaced according to milage/year whichever comes first. My question is, which service should I be doing? The 90month one? the 24,000km one? I am totally lost here and the last time I had my mechanic check my car he said the brake pads has 70% left, but as soon as I took it for a ride to the highway, the brakes were vibrating [he took the rims off for brake fluid change and there were a bit of rust between the rims and the mounting surface (the brake rotor I assume?)] The mech said it is the rust causing the vib. After a while it went away.

Now, my biggest concern is that there seems to be all these little things going on with the car, and I've no idea where to start. Have been quite busy during the 14k-18k period so nothing was done and the car has been garaged for 5months, I just got it insured and hopefully do some maintainance soon.

Thanks for the help guys

If not done before, have a major service done--ie timing belt/waterpump and all fluds and filters. I think that the valve adstment doesn't have to be done until 30k or 45k miles ( check the manual for that one).

I would do everything on the maintenance schedule (for all intervals), plus replace the cooling system hoses (which are not on the schedule).

If the tires are really old (and/or cracking), they should probably be replaced as well.

Thanks for all the reply guys, they were extremely helpful in directing me in the right direction.

I just read about the coolant pipe recall service and my car was one of them and it does not have a mark on the 'J' on the VIN on the rear wall of the engine compartment, so I assume it had never been done. I also found a transistor failure recall of the blower motor of the A/C system that caused my ac to only blow on high.

Now that I have gone thru most of the list on the service bulletin, I should put together a list of parts/services and get my nsx serviced asap. Including all the belts and fluids, the waterpump and pipes, the brake discs and pads, and could use some new tires.

Thanks again guys for all the help!

Because both of those items were recalls, any Acura dealer can look up in Acura's central database and tell you whether or not your car was serviced to address those problems.

That's the way it works in the States, but I bet it's true north of the border as well.

The problem up here is the Canadian Data Base (Commadore 64) is in mothballs somewhere and Acura Canada can't bring up old data. Go Figure!
So you can only get certain info. Maybe the Usa was running a 286 at the time!
Blackna1, perhaps your local guys could help out and take a ride or drive your car and steer you in the right direction. Stacynsx and Pam are in your area, plus alot more.
Enjoy!
