I know this is a repost, but it's a great way to waste 8 minutes.

NSX-R at the Ring.

Thanks, hey its better than sitting here listening to people who want to set up a wireless network with their DIAL UP modem....

I wonder if my car is capible of that since the suspension is on my car now. With little more HP. Too bad I'll never find out.

I find it amazing that a production street car engine stays in one piece throgh all that. He's at or above 8,000 RPM for a very, very long time.

The R is a bad ass mfer. My cars always blows a sensor when driving like that. I wonder how different the enginge management software is for the NSX-R vs NA1? There seems to be no true rev limit on that track car.

Even with NA2 R, there is still a speed limiter on the ECU (110mph-ish). The one in the video is Honda's press car, so Honda removed it.

Good vid...

BTW, I want those pedals...Are they from the S2000? I wonder if you could retrofit the S2K pedals onto the NSX

They are NSX Type R pedals. As a matter of fact, Dali sells the COMPLETE set of 3 pedals and they're CHEAP (priced) for what you get!

"Oddly Honda sells the brake and clutch pedal covers separately, but the gas pedal just comes attached to the pedal arm. Damn them. BACK IN STOCK!"

I know this clip very well, it is a standard item on my laptop with a whole bunch of other NSX -related clips.

I just wish I could find a version which has a (much) better resolution.

Also, I am still looking for the video where Gansan takes the original NSX around the Nurburgring, then spins the car halfway but simply continues the trip.
Would be nice to have a clip of the original 1992 Type R running the Ring in 8:03 but I don't kwow if such a clip exists.

I've heard that this run is not acknowledged in the "official" records because it was not a complete lap. Is it because he slowed down and pulled in just prior to the start line?

Momo pedals = $20
Plane ticket to Italy = $2000
Hotel = $1000

Damn, that's one hell of a deal on those pedals! lol

If that is the exchange rate on car parts in Italy I'm flying out tonight some mods!
Ticket to Italy - $2000
Stay at hotel - $1000
Finding Momo parts dirt cheap - priceless...

BTW - I am flying to Mexico this weekend! I will update you all on any good parts I find at the flea markets.

When you consider that all I thought I would bring back from that trip was a lot of pictures and about an extra 2 inches on my waistline, the $20 pedals were a nice little bonus!

well, this is my pedal set (Procar NSX- JDM NA2R pedals)
Looks like Dali put that on his webside, maybe he isnt able to do his own

I meet Gansan in year 2002.
I have all japanese original DVD's here, also the old DVD
from 1992. Also the spin.....

Very impressive material, its nice to have that archive.

The most impressive part has Vancehu, he got the
complete suspension from that wonderful car.
He must be very proud

I imagine this discrepancy is due to a problem with the timer inserted into the video. I would think that BM knows how to time a lap. If the NA1R turned an 8:03 I don't see any reason that the vastly superior NA2R wouldn't run 7 secs faster.

NSX-R at the Ring.

Thanks...I am hooked. The resolution was not good so I could not tell what the speedometer reading was at the end? Where can I get a copy of this video?

Actually, the person who did the spin was Takashi Ohi. On one of my DVDs, Gansan comments on the turn where Ohi spins, and then there is a clip of the spin shown. It looks like it was him, but if you can understand Japanese, it wasn't him.

If I'm not mistaken, Takashi Ooi was/still is the chief editor of all BM videos and an experienced avid track rat. He's actually pretty darn fast in his own right. If I'm not also mistaken, the Norschleife spin you were referring to between Eschbach and Brunnchen was found in the NSX Debut video released in 1990, not the NA1R special, which came out 3-4 years later. Both videos were never marketed outside Japan. :( I don't know if this is still possible, but you may still be able to special order a copy from Kinokuniya Bookstore if there's one in your neck of the woods, or try their website.
