For 1997+ NSX's..."Six speed manual transmission - 6th gear is engaged by a solenoid. The gearshift activates a switch to change gears."

Can someone elaborate on this? I did a search and found some info, but nothing concrete? Do any other manufacturers do this? I've just never heard of such a thing before. Sorry if this is a repost...

Thanks!,

The solenoid prevent you from shifting in to reverse, nothing else.

Oh, that makes more sense. I got the info from the FAQ section, and the way i read it, i thought that 6th gear was changed not with linkage, but electronically. I've just never heard of that before.

Thanks for clearing that up, I guess thats a NOOB post

Thanks kindly,
