Can one use a 5 speed main shaft on a 6 speed tranny to allow the use of a dual disk clutch? I am putting a OS Giken LSD in my '97 6 speed and I have a '91 snap ringed 5 speed laying around I can use as a donor to pull the main shaft out of and do the swap. Has anyone done this? I have not cracked the 6 speed open yet, but the 5 speed is a basket case so all I need to do is push the gears off the shaft. I was going to use the Honda LSD out of the 5 speed with a type-R 4.23 final drive, before I took one more hit off the 'go fast crack pipe' and threw down for the OS Giken LSD. Now I keep looking at that Exedy carbon dual disk clutch....

Thanks Larry,
How are they different? Just curious.

Hi Dave,

I am thinking the overall length may be slightly different, but honestly I have never had them side by side. In the pic of Chris's site it complares the six speed single disk mainshaft vs. NSX-R and the only difference is the double spline.
