420NSX Engine Compartment

Wow! Your engine bay is very nice and so clean.

This is how an NSX engine bay should always looks like!

Mine alas stock is generally very clean but some mechanics at my Acura dealer told me to be very aware of not letting water leaking in the sparkplug holes and thus to always cover the engine cover ( sounds strange

) when cleaning the engine bay...

Never had an issue with that?

How much time does it take to clean your engine bay like that ?

Thanks

Washing the engine is a simple five minute job. The sray-on degreaser/cleaner does all the work. The engine just gets dusty, nothing that some soap and water won't remove.

I haven't had any water intrusion problems. The coil covers should keep most of the water out. After having removed the covers to replace them with the Dali pieces, I'd say that things look pretty water-tight underneath as well.

As for the engine cover, I'd say that if you do not want to get it wet, just remove it. It is only four bolts, and you may like the look of having it off. But remember, removing the cover starts you on your way to dressing up the engine bay. Just changing the plastic coolant tank for an aftermarket aluminum one makes the whole engine compartment look much better.
