Many thanks to Chris from SoS for sourcing of parts and the discount on Comptech item. Special thanks to Mark from Dali and his fabrication skills, for running back and forth to the machine shop several times to dip my parts. Thanks, also, to all the NSX Prime members that have shared their knowlege/pictures, and answered questions, for giving me the confidence to go through with my mods. Couldn't have done it without your support and inspiration.

This is going to be a dumb question but I will ask anyway. Why did you buy aluminum parts and then have them blacked out?

Originally, I purchased a pair of used RM polished aluminum door sills from MJ, but I am not a big fan of the 'chrome and polished look'. I inquired about having them anodized to match the interior of my Zanardi Edition, similar to the Dali 'titanium look' drink holder. Because of the polishing on the sills, they came out a bit darker than expected, but still a pretty good match.

When I decided to replace the plastic engine parts with the Dali polished aluminum pieces, naturally I wanted to get them anodized as well. However, because they are made from a different grade of aluminum with different machining to polish them, they took to the anodizing process a bit differently than the sills did. The resulting color is more of a charcoal grey color (less golden), slightly darker than the Zanardi wheels.

As for cleaning, I tend to wash the engine three times a year, spring/mid-summer/fall. I just spray on a little simple green, which I currently use to clean my wheels, and hose it off. After drying, I spray a little tire foam on the hoses to shine them up. Then I buff off the excess residue with a soft cloth as I find it tends to attract dust.

No, but if you are afraid of getting water in the altenator, you can cover it with a piece of aluminum foil. I spray some water into mine, but try not to directly.

I just installed a 'scooped' hood and have some wires near the radiator that are now exposed to the elements. I am afraid that water may get onto the connections and freeze, causing eventual failure. I may cover them somehow, when I park outside in the winter.

Thanks, nice and clean until I drive through a construction zone with concrete dust again.

I figure that a Zanardi is the closest thing to a real NSX Type-S on these shores, so I may as well fake it since I'm half way there. I don't understand why there is no outside badging to set the car apart from a stock NSX.

One thing I recently noticed is that some Zanardi NSXs have white 'ACURA' lettering on the wheel center caps (mine, the press car #00, and the one pictured with Zanardi himself #01), while others have a black Acura logo.

My RM sills are anodized titanium nitrate color. If you wish to buy some that are polished and cost less, check the Dali Racing site. I believe that MJ has since begun producing his own version, and they are much less weight than the RM versions.

I went with the Burn-Up hood from SoS, and am very happy with the fit and quality. It is also available in carbon-fiber.

Thanks.

I am currently debating whether I should put a 2002 front ACURA logo badge on top of my carbon-fiber airbox lid.

Thanks for the opinion, that is what I think as well. It is just that 'tacky' is so in these days, and I have this '02 badge that I never installed on the front...cause it's tacky. I need something there around the airbox to add a little eye candy. Hmmm.

I passed a PRELUDE today, and couldn't help but notice the letters 'LUD', I think Lud should buy the badge and customize the LUDmobile.
