3rd NSX and Friends Track Event 11/30/07

Not like you guys care or anything, just need to vent a little.

Builder just found out that my oil pump casing and gear is cracked. DAMN IT!

$1150 for a new Tomei oil pump
$1700 in labor to pull the motor and replace the JUN one (thats only 4 months old that I paid $900 for) for the new Tomei one.

Guess its good that he found it now, versus me tracking my car with little to no oil pressure.

It is time to get familiar with the track going CCW. These videos on youtube can get you more prepared.

I was shock to see that the temp range is from 35 to 56. Our cars will thank us for driving them in such nice cool temp.

Please remember to take it easy in the morning when the track and your tires are cold. I have seen too many spinouts on the first 10 minutes of track events.

Remember, if you make a booboo, every one has to suffer from rock chips and lose of track time if we have to clean up the spill. You don't want to be ...."the one"

I have started a Irvine Caravan thread. Please respond if you'd like to join us. For our first track event, we had almost half of the attendees in the caravan.

All,

Ron98 offers to bring his dyno equipment if we can get 10 people to commit. He charges $50 for 3 runs.

For those that just want to come and hang out, here is another reason for you.

Give us a shout out if you are interested.

For those of you that drives pre-07, if you are looking for a set of track wheels/tires, I'm selling mine.

Re: Anyone have a BEACON for HOT LAP TIMER?

Has there been a schedule posted anywhere? What time should be arrive by in the morning? What time is the drivers' meeting?

Ok at 7am it is going to be 40*F. The warmest it is going to get is around noon-1pm at 52*F.

Make sure to bring warm clothes!!! And of course make sure to check your tire pressures before making the track out. You might want to set them a little high due to the cold temperature... Start off at 38-40psi cold and bleed them down when you get to the track...

Should be fun, see you guys there!

It is on the hand out that I sent to all last week. Be there at around 7:30 and get gas and food and unpack.

Drivers meeting at 8 and track goes hot at 9. Group A first. You run every 30 mins. until 4:30 with an hour lunch.

How was the event guys? I was an hour into the trip and the rain was coming down like crazy and the NSX was hydroplaning pretty bad. It was time to turn around. I will look for the next one and hope for better weather..

On and off sprinkles...... mostly on.
I had a blast!
Have a few pic's but am sure others have better.
Stuntman blew my mind drifting almost the entire track in his NSX.
Most fun I have ever had in the passenger seat.
Period.

Some of the most fun i have ever had in my entire life. Will definately be going to next event

Heres some Teaser pics:tongue:

That was a great event! Glad everyone had fun, and a safe, exciting day learning car control in a fun environment!

Mark, once again, you have done an amazing job with your M3. Everything from the ride, handling, and feel is spot-on. Your hard work definitely paid off. -Have any experience adjusting timing chains in an E36 M3?

Thanks again for letting me drive your beautiful car, glad to hear you had a fun time!

***Does anyone know if the "Track HG" or whatever it was - yellow Elise who was taking pictures - is on this forum?

-He was taking some good pictures of the day (and lots of sliding pictures) that i'd like to check out!

That's Manly and he is not a Prime member. I'll let you know when you posts his photos online.

Thank for those that came out in the rain!

I feel bad for picking a rainy day for some first timers. We had a nice group of people there for sure. Billy, and all the instructors, thanks for helping!

Nice pics and it looks like you guys had a great time! Sorry I couldn't make it, and the pics shows what I missed :frown:
The next one is ???
