#3rd Canyon Drive ROCKED

hey akira-
the video isn't working for me. i can hear the cars... but don't see anything.
anyone else have the same problem?
any tips for me?

John, Tina, Craig, Marc, et al ......

As your Northern California brethren, we are very impressed with this tour de force in attendance.

This seems to match in number our NSX exclusive track events, the largest gathering of NSXs outside an NSXPO event. Great job.

Now, can we recruit you to help Keith and Harry with organizing the scenic drives at NSXPO 2003 ........... ;)

Mike,
Me too. My .wmv files are set to default to an older Media Player. That didn't work. When I dropped it into Window Media Player 9, everything worked fine.

I should have warned people...the new WMV clips I posted require Microsoft's Windows Media Player 9 (they may work in 8, but I can't confirm that).

Sorry I took down the MPG file...I just didn't like looking at the vertically stretched version (plus, the WMV files are considerably smaller)

Akira, did you change the colors of some of the cars toward the end of the video? I saw a 2002 or 3 metallic brown or maroon and a light blue with SpeedLingerie bra. I don't recall seeing these cars unless if they were ss-md's blue and ANYTIME's yellow in disguise.

The last four cars are ss-md's blue 03, Tan's blue, a silver, and Anytime's yellow. They look fine on my monitor...and no, I hanven't done any color correction. Are you sure your monitor or Media Player settings are correct? Sounds like your colors are somewhat inverted.

I was able to see blue and yellow just fine towards the beginning of the clip. Just the last few seconds that it changed. Hmmm! very strange!

My camcorder is standard VHS and I don't have the board and equipment to get that onto a PC. That's too bad as I got some great group footage- All the NSXs blowing by me onto the 101, me slowly driving past the entire line of cars up to the front, and a shot of everyone pulling into the Hamlet parking lot one at a time (with gratuitous Top Gun anthem in the background :D ). That stuff would be a good addition to the final video if we get one. I plan to make another tape and send it over to Mark. I can also bring the tape to next Thursday's meeting if you guys think we can get it on the TV.

Ilya, THANKS AGAIN for everything.

Keri enjoyed the company of your girlfriend!

I hope that we can get your footage onto the DVD. That would be sweet. I'm sure you got some sweet footage from sweet angles!

Thanks again!

If it's VHS, I'd send the original copy to Mark...you lose a lot of quality when copying VHS to VHS.

As for getting it on the TV, if I go to the next meeting, I'll bring my RF modulator. As long as you have standard RCA phono plug outs from your camera, we should be good. I'm going to bring my unedited 2 hours of in-car footage too...again, if I can go.

What meeting

Hello guys

When and where is the next meeting? I would like to attend it if possible. Would love to see any footage of the canyon drive. I also have a few pictures.

Sighhhhhhttt**** seeing all the pictures and stories makes me drooooOOol even more. I understand that this is a yearly thing, but whatttttttt if we put another one in between or something here in OC? I know it won't be as goood, but it would be half as fun!!! the route that i am thinking of would be:

http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/AngelsCrest.htm

or

http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/Highway74.htm

then end up

http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/Rim.htm

to finish with a late home made style lunch in the wildestness or the city of big bear!!

My suggestion would be to not publish any of the routes and or meeting locations. PM me if you need help getting together a drive.

hopefully that clip of my car shooting flames comes out well, I'm still dying to see it!

Allen

Hey Allen! This is the best I could do. Don't blink, you'll miss it.

It happened so fast that I couldn't even get it on frame to get a screen capture.

I encoded it in DivX format so make sure you have the codec. (http://www.divx.com)

Anyone remember this Canyon Drive??

I think there were 8 NSX's

Whoa! It's Garth W! I remember you. I don't know if you remember me... but I remember on the first(?) Canyonball run, you were leading and were behind a group of bikers... I guess you pissed them off when one of them went looking for "The Red Ferrari" who was tailing them. He was PISSED!

I didn't have an NSX back then... but it was fun to tag along.

That's funny!

Yup. Conrad got it... it's me. And I do remember you. Did you get your NSX in the end? Also... did you run this last event and did they take that same route as always? I heard that after the last one I did a ride-a-long Porsche and NSX got mangled.
