The Canyon drive is in the books and it was great! Thanks go to John and Tina Richards for putting it all together, Ilya for the up front spotting-NO TICKETS. Craig K. and Marc W. for leading the pack, and everyone who donated gifts to the raffle. Can't wait for the next one.

SEND ME YOUR TAPES AND EMAIL ME YOUR PHOTOS!

John is already bugging me to edit the DVD and I can't edit unless I have the tapes!:p :p

Killer turnout!

Damn, you're fast Mark!

Yes, most excellent drive. Once again, John and Tina put on a great event!

I'll be transferring all of my 6 megapixel shots and 2.5 hours worth of video (to convert to miniDV for you Mark) to my computer tonight.

Here's a 1MB WMV clip to get you guys and gals excited about the video (NOTE: This video now plays in its correct aspect ratio)

And my subject refers to the number of NSXs, not the video! :D

WOW, Speechless..Thank you to all that organized, reference textbook "without a hitch" organization of so many freaking NSX in one area of Los Angeles. I am so priviledge and honor to have been a part of it.

The 2nd part of the run was fantastic, although Danny changed colored a few times in my car, but it was a great drive down the hill :)

Thanks Fury for leading the way to the restaurant, I was in the middle of no where coming out of the twisty, glad to see fellow nsx on the road

I'll kick off the pictures

What a day!

That canyon run was a blast. I drove my car harder than I have ever done before and really enjoyed it. Now I can appreciate having better gripping tires. Thanks to the folks who spent the time putting this event together. Many thanks,

Manny:D

weird.., I get on the average 18 mpg on leisure drives. After today's canyon drive, I got 23 mpg. Similarly, after my last camarillo autocross, I got 21mpg.

It seems the harder you drive the car, the better the gas milage it gets. If I continue at this rate, what kind of twisties do I need to get 25+ out of the car.. :)

Drive

We would like to first say thanks to: Craig K. and Marc W. for helping all of us with the maps/routing and leading the way safely. Ilya for being our prerunner and videographer on the whole route and his patient girlfriend. Dave and Lesley DeGroff for wrapping 50 plus raffle gifts. Randy C, Marc S and Mark S for donating some terrific raffle prizes. You all pulled together with generous help and made the drive all the better. You guys are the best!

Thanks to everyone who came; we broke the record this year with the most cars and participants ever. Just think--Three years ago we started our 1st Prime Drive with 17 cars and 20 people & today we had 43 cars and 74 drivers...WHOO HOO!!! The best part of the whole thing is the fact that you all are such a group of genuinely nice people who, coincidently, all drive NSX's.

What a beautiful sight to see over 40 NSX's all in one place. It was like art on wheels. Although we are glad to be home again with our Baby Shelby, it was kinda depressing to put the "other baby" in the garage for the evening.

Thanks again to all.

Regards--

John and Tina

Awesome

Here's my quickly thrown together panorama (a nicer version will follow later).

And, if you hadn't already guessed, my elbow didn't once bother me all day long! Felt good to give my arm (and my NSX) a thorough workout.

Thank you to everyone that works to put on this FIRST CLASS EVENT, thanks for letting me join in again. Gil

I thought I was the only to experience this weird phenomenon...although I know I didn't get that great of mileage during last year's autocross.

I haven't had a chance to check how I did yesterday, but I'll let you know if I see a similar spike. ;p

This was a great drive. Very well organized. Thanks all, it was a pleasure meeting everyone. A special thanks to John and Tina for organizing the event. Akira3D, that's a great movie clip - good photog's are in the right place at the right time!!

great event

That was well organized and excellent drive. You can immediately tell that lot of thoughts and careful planning went into this drive from the organizers. Starting with ample parking spot at the meeting point, then to leasure drive through canyons and scenic route by the coast. Then comes the second half where you really get to excercise your upper body. On couple of turns I wished I had 5 point harness and a bucket seat...(money pit I tell ya!)

End of the drive and at the restaurant, John and Tina put some effort into our menu which included the appetizers and the desert (cake with pictures from last event). And finally the raffle with excellent gifts.

Thank you John, Tina, Ilya, Craig, and Marc for this wonderful event. Looking forward for the next one.

p.s. Thank you CCup....I mean CDub for organizing the caravan. Sorry you didn't get the bra. I'm sure Victoria Secret will have a sale soon.

and I really wanted that bra too. I just feel vulnerable and exposed when driving without a bra.

Like I said on the other thread, if I have C-cups, I'll be my own best friend and don't need nobody.

Wow, sounds like one hell of an event! I am so green with envy... For those of you that put this together, do you have any tips for organizing such an event beyond what I've posted here? Thank you.

Tips? Yes, I can help, PM me and I'll let you know what you need to do.

Thanks again John, Tina, and Craig for organizing such a well run event. The radio was invaluable as there were no tickets or accidents. I felt very safe from the law enforcement and other oncoming cars as the information that was broadcasted was always correct and timely. It was also great to see some old faces from Prime Canyon I. Thanks again! Calvin.

Canyon Drive

There's only one word that I can use to explain how I felt. WWWWOOOOOOWWWWW. My wife Judy said, while I was concentrating on one of turns "This is the longest Disneyland ride I have ever seen." I would agree. Thanks to everyone that helped in anyway with this trip it was awsome.

AWESOME

We had A BLAST! Thanks to everyone for making this event happen. (John, Tina, Ilya, Marc, Craig, etc). It was just AWESOME.

I have tapes and I'll send them as soon as I can review them. Do you have a deadline date set?

Thanks John, Tina, Craig and others who made my 1st event so memorable. Its people like you and the club that have made the NSX ownership experience that much better!

I bet Anna (my passenger) $20 I could get her to scream like a little girl on some of the turns. It finally took alot of small drifts and mild fishtailing but....guess who's $20 richer :D ....we goin ta Sizzler, we goin ta Sizzler!!!

Great event. Looking forward to more in the future.

Suffer...suffer..I must have gotten mistaken for a celebrity on the way back on that wretched 405 because pics of me driving were taken by tourists, or they just like the car.

........................shutttttt up!!!!

OK, we'll be nice...

Oh, did I mention that toward the end of the drive, where we were going down the hill on some very narrow twisties and then we reached PCH (I think) for a little bit before we head back up the hills. Seeing a line of NSXes snaking up the hill was a sight to see. I wished I had a video camera at that time.

The uphill part was the most challenging part and my favorite part of the drive. I had to be constantly changing between 2nd and 3rd gear.
