1. Are there any comptech widebody replicas that fit fairly well that are available for less than a real comptech widebody kit?

2. What is the center section of the rear spoiler made out of?

3. Are the brake calipers cast iron or aluminum?

There are no knock offs of the Comptech widebody, but there are other choices. Try here http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/exterior_performance_products/NSX/aero_ground_effects.asp[/url]

If you are refering to the factory spoiler, the piece with the third brake light in it is made of plastic and fiberglass.

Stock calipers are cast iron.

Hope this helps.

3300lbs is for the Targa.
The Comptech Widebody is a bit heavier than the Stock Aluminum panels but not by too much more. I don't think the entire kit adds more than 30-40lbs TOPS.
David Bernert in Texas said he weighed in at 2800 some off pounds with the CT Widebody kit if I remember right...

Thanks for the info. I can imagine that the brakes and other mods could add weight, but it just seems heavy.

Sounds like you're quoting from the recent Car & Driver. The yellow car was used to prototype the body kit, so it is much heavier than what a similar car with the production panels would be. The car is also a targa, which doesn't help.
