25mm wheel spacers vs 15mm spacers

I recently installed JIC coilovers on my 2001 NSX, and I lowered the car by 1/2 inch at all four corners. Afterwards I felt that that I needed to push my OEM 16"/17" wheels out for esthetic reasons.

After searching this website it seemed that 25mm H&R wheel spacers were perhaps the favorite size of "NSXprimers". After installing them, I felt that they pushed the wheels too far out.

Next I tried a set of 15mm H&R spacers (with the necessary longer studs), and I feel that they are just right. The wheels seem to fill the fender wells very nicely, yet they do not protrude too far. The car's stance is nicely aggressive, too.

I submit this posting only to remind people that although the 15mm spacers are more difficult to install I feel that they should be strongly considered when deciding which spacers to install.

Happy motoring!

You can also get custom made spacers that are hubcentric and have the correct studs already pushed into them. A couple of years ago I had a 20mm set on the front and 25mm on the rear of my NSX w/ OEM 16/17 and that looked just right.

IMHO, on a non lowered car, or slightly lowered car like yours, the fronts are about perfect when pushed out by 15mm, compared to 94-05 stock. If the car is lowered 1.5", then you can push them out 25mm, but any more than that looks bad to my eye.

How about posting a picture of your car?

I agree with everyone: It looks best if the front spacer thickness is smaller than the rear. A photo might be helpful...

Here's 25mm front and rear with ~0.8" drop. From this angle, you can see the front is sticking out a bit too much relative to the rear.

Wow, yours does stick out  (like a sore thumb). Wonder why some sticks out more than others

Heres mine with 25mm on Eibachs/ Bilsteins (16/17's OEM's).

I have a similar question on wheel spacers. I have a 03'NSX-T w/OEM 17x7" Front/17.9" Rear running 215/40 ZR17 & 255/40ZR17 respectively. I have ordered TEIN MonoFlex Coilovers (lowering it 1.5" Tein spec Faq.) to be installed in a few weeks. The wheels are currently tucked in without the coilovers. They told me that it will tuck further in with the lowering. So, with that said, what wheel spacers should I get for the front & rear? I am trying to keep the weight down (stay w/OEM forged single piece 17's).

I am thinking of ordering the H&R 25mm wheel spacers from SOS. I know that DaliLama has staggered config. (e.g. 15mm front/25mm rear) but I have had some issues with ordering from DaliLama in the past. Any other Tuner Shops that offer Staggered config. for wheel spacers?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You should meet up with Ariel (amgNSX from Daly City) he has a 2004 lowered with 25mm H&R adapters....check out his car and you will find the answers you are looking for.

I think I read that somebody who was lowered 1.5" had rubbing issues with 25mm front wheel spacers. He changed to 15mm front wheel spacers and no longer had rubbing issues.

I personally prefer 25mm spacers in the front and back, but I'm only lowered with Bilsteins on the lower perch.

Thanks for the insight. I really do not need to lower it 1.5" I think. I think 1" will be just fine but not sure yet. I ordered Tein MonoFlex coilovers & that is what the spec. sheet stated. I am assuming that I can adjust the height. I am hoping that SOS offers staggered spacers 15mm front & 25mm rears. Currently, they only offer same thickness sets of 5,15, & 25mm. I better check with the Acura Technician on this...or SOS where I got the coilovers & probably the H&R Spacers...

Thanks again.

So is it safe to assume that 25mm spacers are ok for the front AND rear with my '92 with OEM 16/17s?

Are there any performance issues I need to be aware of? I just don't like the way my wheels are tucked into the wheel well and would like to give them a bit wider stance.

i have a set of H&R hubcentric for sale
15mm for fronts and 25mm for rears from Dali. You will only need the extended studs in the front which are required. I did not want to take apart the front rotor to pull them out so i still have the studs on my car. You can get the extended studs for about $30 from Dali.
Here is a few pics i have when i ran the spacers.

Pm me if interested. $160 shipped.

So if I do 25mm up front I don't have to mess with longer studs, etc?

Is 25mm too much for the front with my stock setup?

with 25mm spacers you dont need to add extended studs because the spacer itself has the studs integrated. I have seen one car with 25mm spacers and it looked too much up front didnt quite sit well compared to the rears. But on a side note he was running 225s up front.

My 93 with 16/17 OE wheels/tires and 25mm all the way around.

Sweet! I'm going to place my order with Dali -- or is there another vendor or group buy for these? My only fear is I have two "spirited" drives coming up... will spacers mess with the handling very much? Will I even notice it?

The main thing is to torque the spacers with like 95lbs, torque the wheels, and then after 100miles or so torque everything again, correct?

always wondered about spacers... are they safe to run, do they put more stress on suspension components? Do they change the suspension geometry by pushing the wheels outward?

Thanks in advance
