Car reviews indicate that the 2002 NSX drag coefficient is down from .32 to .30 adding another 10mph at the top end. This is in great part to the addition of the piece under the spoiler on the trunk lid. Has anyone added that part to an older NSX? Results? It looks just like a piece one could "stick on."

No, 7 mph (175 vs 168).

I believe it can be added to any NSX (although it may - or may not - require drilling holes in the trunk lid).

It IS stuck on. Play with one in real life and you can "see" the adhesive at work.

Isn't the lower drag coefficient in the new 2002 mostly due to the new front end design rather than the little strip of spoiler added on the trunk??

Are there any numbers for the DC of any of the aftermarket mods, perticularly the front ends?

The coefficient of drag of the stock 2002 was lowered to 0.32.

I doubt that any of the aftermarket body kits publish numbers, either for specific parts or for entire kits. Wanna guess why?

Yes it is stuck on AND it has holes. Honda invited us(local NSXCA members) a sneak peak
at some new NSX's awhile back and I had a chance to pull on that little piece until I could see past the stick on material to the snap in plugs similar to door panel ones(looked like 5 or 6 of them). I suppose you could put one on an older car and eliminate them and just go with the stick on stuff(although honda thought more was needed).

Hey I was there at American Honda HQ also! =) I saw quite a few of the attendees pull on that thing pretty hard... I didn't do it as hard as you guys!

Think it's a safe bet that the trunk lid on the 02's have different part numbers because of the new holes? Maybe that's the for sure way of knowing? (It's not that I don't believe you!)
