2002+oem headers on a 91

How much power did you gain for 3k+. Sounds rediculous for a few added ponies unless FI comes into play. DIY would save quite a bit from hurt wallets.

I upgraded to the oem headers. I noticed more power.

Later on I upgraded to the rc racing ones with the 2.5" collector since I went the supercharger route.

Both r ceramic coated which really helped with keeping the engine bay temps down.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have put on the serious headers, like what I have now, in the first place.

Ok guys I have a complete system off a 2002 oem headers, oem cats, oem Muffler, and OEM rear sway bar. and I am gonna put it on my 92

Now I was thinking what if I had the headers chromed and high polished
do you think it would add even more HP?

just wondering before I put them on or wouold it be a waste and added weight?

The NA2 headers are made from stainless steel and have excellent OEM-fitment heat shields, so no need to coat them. Just bolt on and enjoy the power. :)

Also, you may want to consider an aftermarket exhaust. The OEM muffler is fairly restrictive, so you will not be getting the full benefit of the headers. I am very partial to the RM/B&B exhaust, which is 10 lbs lighter than stock and frees up about 10 hp. The Angus AP-X is a great option too.

+1

No need to do anything more on the NA2 headers unless you're just going for looks :)

An aftermarket exhaust is approximately 5-10hp~ more over OEM at the higher RPMs (with the headers already installed). 10hp might even be too generous. It's practically nothing. You will gain much more from the weight savings!

When I get back state side I am purchasing a set of 02+ headers to install on my 91. I already put some money down for the guy to hold them for me. A couple of questions and I apologize in advance if this has been covered.

1) I have stock Cats, soon to have 02+ headers, and a custom flowmaster muffler installed. I will need 02+ Cats...or are their other options to buying the Cats.

2) The rear sway bar has to be updated. Will aftermarket rear Swaybars fit a 91?

3) I wish there was an adapter for the 02+ seems confusing all the work that needs to be done.

To help answer your questions:

- I will soon have high flow cat and test pipes (resonated and non) to adapt '02-up headers directly to 91-94 exhausts without any other parts.

- I currently produce high flow cats and test pipes to adapt 97-99 headers to 91-94 exhausts.

- For your rear sway bar, you can easily buy the OEM bar and bushings for about $120 form the dealer.

Feel free to PM me if you need more details.

For those of you with stock cast iron manifolds and thinking about FI, NA2 stock exhaust manifolds are an excellent way to improve exhaust flow, cut weight and add HP. A good used set can be had on prime for about $300.00.

Thanks, how long until you think the cats will be ready?

I have the only Prospeed cats that connect 02+ headers directly to 91- 94 exhaust or basically any aftermarket exhaust for sale if any one is interested. Just pm me.

I wanted to add this diagram to help out everyone visualize the differences between exhausts.
