I just purchased a 2000 NSX with only 15k miles on it, that car is very clean and shows no sign of wear. I went to the Acura dealer and told them that the warranty on the car just expired on Feb 04 and they said I have till the end of this month to consider getting the 7 yr 100000 mile warranty but for $3750.00. Do anyone know if this is a good idea to buy this warranty or if I decide to keep the car for 3 more years could I expect to spend more than $3750 on repairs? Please help

$3,750 is high. My dealer told me it was $1,995 for the warranty. I paid half that at $999. Tell them you will pay them $1,995.
Yeah, its worth the $1,995 for the 7 yr/100,000 miles.

i paid $2k for my ext. warranty at acura of north scottsdale.

yeah, 2k sounds about right. I dont know why they want to charge you $3,750. If you bought your car from them, then you should complain. If you didnt, then maybe thats why they are charging you so much. But thats still crazy price for warranty. It COULD save you a bundle in the long run though.
Find out exactly what the 7yr/100k miles cover. You might not need it at all for your driving habits. If you will put ALOT of miles on the car, then its probably a good idea. If it will be a garaged baby, then just get the warranty.

Take care,

That price is a rip-off the warranty should cost you roughly $1850, If the car was being sold under the certified progran the warranty cost the dealer about $895. I suppose thats what OPEN RD did for you calvin... nyways the warranty can be purchased thu any acura dealer so if you want pm me; ill do it for a couple of bucks over cost

Hi Bridgewater,
Actually, they cut me a break cuz I took a hit on my 2 trade-in.
That why I paid about 900 for the warranty. They told me it was originally about $1,995. If you can get it for $1850, DO IT.

Bridgewater / Clavin,

Thanks for the info, now I won't have to think to hard about this, since I almost got ripped, Ill research more around my area and let you guys know what i come up with.

Bridgewater, let me know what you come up with, I'd PM u. Thanks

Hey, I have to vote for Bridgewater. I bought my car from them and Mike (Bridgewater) took good care of me and I got an excellent price. The 3,750 is a criminal rip-off of epoch proportions. Good Luck.
