20 years ago from Acura

You are correct, L model with SE wheels and dealer-installed rear spoiler and wind deflector. With an old school 7 band graphic EQ in the dash!

Here's the Fit that it replaces:

I'll miss it because it is really is a fun little go-kart but the Legend is just too sumptious. And the right colors!

I love the new fits but that legend you picked up is just soo clean and a classic beauty of what Acura stands for. Great pick up man!!

I'd be willing to bet that quite a few current NSX owners either did have or still do have a G2 Legend. My contribution and current DD:

1995 Cayman Pearl White LS Coupe with 155,500 miles and still going strong. Only thing that ever really goes wrong on these is the rear main seal ($600 labor to replace a $5 gasket), the rear transmission mount, the master window switch and oh yes, the dreaded Blown Head Gasket (BHG), well known to all of us over at acuralegend.org. Remedies for that PITA are to (1) remove the throttle cable bracket that bolts to the radiator (causes a stress crack in the top radiator tank), (2) at some point, replace all 22 (!) coolant hoses and (3) make sure the radiator is inspected and replaced on a regular basis, preferably with an OEM Denso. Other than that, get in and drive it, son! There's a member over there, Tyson (and here, too) that has a '94 Desert Mist Coupe that is getting ready to turn over 500K miles so with regular preventative maintenance, they'll run forever. Ya did good, proud of ya. Legend > Fit any day and twice on Sunday---

I would strongly suggest joining up over at acuralegend.org, there's a wealth of information there, the majority of the members/owners are knowledgeable & friendly and the admin (Graeme) and one of the mods (me) are NSX owners.

PS: Get that TB/WP done ASAP! The WP is probably OK but that TB is about 10 years past it's sell-by date. Hit me up anytime if you need any pointers, bro---

The "Legend" looks nice but WE ALL KNOW WHO THE REAL LEGEND IS:

curtsr - GREAT looking Acura! Way to go

stevieray122854 - that Legend looks sooooooo good!

Hey Motegi !!!?!!! ! I know you moved back to FL and all, but geez, we're talking LEGENDS here

curtsr & stevieray, you guys have some really nice DD. Those are incredible specimens. Take good care of those beauties (and your NSX's).

Wow. Immaculate. That is a rare find, my friend. I'd keep the Fit as a daily and park the 27k mile Legend to keep it mint and low-mileage! You don't see them in that condition very often. Congratulations on an absolutely gorgeous Legend coupe.

Right on, Steve! And some very sound advice that you've given to the proud new Legend owner.
150-200K miles life expectancy for one of these would be average I would guess.

I turned over 493,000 yesterday in my 1994 Legend LS. Mine's a stick shift with the original engine, transmission, and clutch (with all the records to prove it). Trust me, they got the name right when they named this car a Legend. Follow my drive to 500k miles on my blog if it interests you at all.

Wow, now this Really brings back the memories! I love this...almost exactly like my old Legend...I had aftermarket rims for summer, and these for my winter tires..and a different rear spoiler...I had the one that mounted above the trunk lid with airspace underneath, and a black interior. (I personally love the tan though) I got more speeding tickets in that car, than I've gotten in all my other cars my entire life combined. This looks absolutely stunning. What a wonderful driving machine that was...E N J O Y !!

Hello, Ty! Hey, I'm just trying to give curtsr the same warm welcome to the Legend community as I received to the NSX family. Did you ever get over and look at that '92 GPW NSX at SOS? You know you want it---

Thanks to all for the kind words. I love my NSX but my Legends (I've had 4) all occupy a special place. Hell, I'm still looking for that elusive low-mileage Milano Red or Desert Mist six-speed LS Coupe---

Nice Legend! (the NSX ain't so bad too) I agree with Tyson. Park the Legend and just drive it around a little. She'll be an official classic in 5 years and in that condition with that mileage, you'd regret it if something happened between now and then.

Thanks for the inputs and perspectives- that's what I wanted to hear.

I wanted to know from experiences that the Legend would be as suitable for the long haul as the Fit was intended to be. So, we sell the Fit (bad winter car since it is lowered and was always warehoused during snow for that reason), warehouse the Legend in the winter and press our old AWD A6 Avant into service for the snowy months (coming up).

I've been to acuralegend.org in preparation and while there is a wealth of information there it does not appear as easily accessable as here on Prime. Lud has done a really great job putting this site up, organizing it and maintaining it.

Sounds like time for me to make another donation to Prime!

That is an awesome blog and we'll follow your progress to 500K. That's truly incredble and the car has aged very well!

Nice! I used to love the Legend throughout it's production run...granted I was too young to appreciate it in the 80s (but still old enough to wonder why my dad didn't get one!?). My friend got one in 5 speed (was rare) and I used to love taking it for a boot. Hated getting back into my SiR after driving it (that is until I did the motor swap to a GSR). I would give my left nut to have a Legend in great shape like the one you have there sir. I'd say definitely go for it! I daily drive a 2010 Accord 5 speed...very bland feel to it...just gives me great mileage and lot's of room and good old Honda reliability and piece of mind...however I want a Legend now :( ...want to sell? :)

I had a 93 Legend with the Type 2 motor. loved it until I had the infamous BHG... Got rid of it and shortly after bought the NSX.

I was reading that a guy was dropping a NSX motor(not sure if it was NA1 or NA2) in his Legend. Does anyone know if he ever finished?

One of best cars I have driven. I used to have an 88. My bro has 95 75k mint condition. I think it's bit expensive considering the 'premium only'.

Kinda sorta. It was a Dad dropping a C30A into a G1 Legend in memory of his son, the thread is here.

This is a nice find and congratulations!

However, I think the 1st generation Legend coupe is the best looking. For those who owned one of those before, would you buy it back if you ever come across a low mileage example?
