so here it is:
i test drove the vehicle and had it inspected by a nsx specialist at the acura dealership
Transmission number falls within the recall problem with the snap ring issue...trans # j4a4-1005519
Brake lights not working
also, problems with all of the below items:
tail light
spool valves
cam seals
u/c gaskets
oil pan gasket
front bumper garnish; the bumper has been repainted with an exceptional color match but some wires were also painted over (were not covered prior althought the entire nose was removed to perform the painting)
cv boot seal
clutch pedal high although was recently replaced with OEM parts
drivers inner door handle is broken
scratch on the passenger door side, difficult to see unless under bright light condition
paint missing on the passenger side mirror cover (inferior part... about 1 cm)
paint on the roof top is less than ideal to the expert's eye but lay man would never pay attention to it... same goes for repainting of the wheels
there was a tint film on the rear windshield that was removed but left a residue on the window which makes it very difficult to see through it when driving.
left and right blinkers/flashers dont go back to original position after taking a turn; have to be manually put back
crack in the console, right in the midline at the most further front edge just below the windshield
molding around the front windshield would need replacing
car probably been left unused and parked in an uncontrolled climate, spider nest visible in the undercarriage.
Yes there is slight rust in some areas in the undercarriage and around the frog lights but nothing extreme, mostly superficial
ABS light still on (after you drive it for a few minuts it appears). Abs seems to be working fine though
Car drives great, has new tires, new windows regulator, feels very stable, no clutch slip, radio working well althought couldn't hear the between passenger speaker, AC blows cold and warm at all levels and for at least 5-10 minutes straight without a problem. The dull painting on the seat bolster is not bad, blends in somehow well.
If someone feels like investing about 7000$ worth of parts at least plus labor then worth it. That includes a new clutch even thought it was recently changed/ however does not include the snap ring, nor replacement of back windshield. The front windshield is probably not original neither, it has no Acura logo on it; Also, it has a tin film in the upper part that seems like it has melted onto the glass.
It depends, if you are looking for an almost intact vehicle, its not the one, but if you want it to be your project and put it back together you could. Visually it is very good and it does drive well without any abnormal pathological issue at high speed or at any gear as a matter of fact.
The dealership is really nice and honest; great people, but of course being nsx lovers we can be quite intense about these details
let me know if you need more details.
Cheers
