I have a 1992 NSX that has a little over 100k miles and is farly stock in terms of the engine and mechanics. It does have a 02+ conversion (OEM 02+ rear valence, OEM front end with lights, bumper, etc).

Do you all recommend selling it with the front-end conversion or putting it back to 1992 with pop up's? I spent close to $12k in front end parts and dont want to sell it wiht the conversion if I cant recoup what I spent?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Not sure you will recoup that exact $ amount but if the car was very low miles than reverting to oem stock would make sense but with 100k miles its a driver, so sell the oem parts or include in the transaction to sweeten the deal.

One man's very faulty opinion: Presuming you have all the parts to restore the car to its factory form, you'll get more money selling the car and the 2002 front end parts to separate buyers than you will trying to sell a car with a conversion on it. Many first time NSX buyers want the legendary pop-up look. YMMV.

Sorry to hear you're selling - many insightful and helpful thoughts from you noted. Many non-first-time buyers want the legendary pop-up look as well (me), even if they previously tried the fixed headlights, a la @centerpunch .

Agree that a 2002+ conversion will likely not add much value to your 100k+ 1992 - probably the same either way - definitely not $12k. You could probably sell the 02+ conversion parts for more than you could get for the OEM pop-up parts, but you never know. The -ve would be your time to put it back, and the potential cost if anything is missing or later discovered to be broken.

Can't believe I just got your username today. Doh! We need a Doh! smilie.

If your 02 conversion uses OEM parts like the hood, front bumper, headlights, etc it would probably be worth ~$10k. It's pretty rare to find a 02 hood for sale. If the hood and bumper are aftermarket then it's probably not worth that much.

Post it for what you feel its worth. Their are alot of people who like the 02 look and are willing to pay for it. If the offers don't motivate you to sell then you might think about removing it.Keep in mind to remove and install the old front and do paint correction /repaint the old front end to match will also cost time/money .It's a driver's car at 100k miles so replacing the original front end wont ad as much value as you'll think and their is a market for 02 converted cars. I can guarantee you that it will sell fast if priced accordingly.
