My friend is thinking about buying one. Is there anything that I should tell him to watch out for these cars other than rust and the usual--motor, clutch, drivetrain. I have never heard of any problems with these cars, then again I never owned one. Thanks in advance guys.

Bill long time no see..... i hope all is well with you and your cars.
The Datsun 280ZX is one of my all time fav.
I had one that logged over 300K miles.
It went through 2 tranny ($500 each time)
Clutch were replace during tranny transplant ($189)
2 alternators ($89 each)
Fuel injection relay ($35)
Rust was my bigggest problem, good luck.
