Obviously it is ridiculous to give this kind of a gift to an 18 year old, whether or not they are going to be responsible with the car. I believe kids need to learn the value of a dollar and start to earn money at a young age.

We bought a new Toyota Camry for my mother in law last year and I plan on using that car for my daughters first car when she turns 16 in three years.

My oldest daughter wants to be on MTV teenage cribs, I was joking with my wife that we should have my daughter go to the garage and tell everyone that the Carrera GT is her car when she turns 16! She could tell everyone she can't drive a stick but she is going to practice with this car. I think we would have a lot of hate mail!

Have you seen any of that mtv cribs kids editions? If so I don't think you want that attention.No matter how well intentioned the parents seem when interviewed the result is always the same...keep you ,your family and your lovely new house private....imho.

is it really that bad, really??? Granted the kid has a lambo and it really is his, i doubt it. There is a truck in the driveway and the forum seems like everyone has mustangs, so a lambo. In any case though, if you have money to burn and dont car why not. I remember a guy in my driving class was given a m3 just for passing his drivers test and his dads ferrari 360 after high school. The kid was very mature, a 4.0 student so the parents didn't feel wrong about giving him the car. If my kids were straight A students, AND I HAD MONEY TO BURN, i would buy them a sick car as a gift. If you got millions, who cares. Oh, and the value of a dollar can be learned all througout life. Maybe the parents view education as the value of a dollar. If the kid just got the car for no reason and is not responsible in any way, he will smash the lambo and that will be the end of that so like i said, who cares.
