17/19" wheels??

The front wheels are 18x7.5 with an offset of +42...

The manufacturer of the wheel suggested this setup since they had done the 18x7.5 + 19x9 setup in the past on an NSX.

At Tire Rack, but you can't get there by brand. (dumb) Since the NSX OEM tires are so specialized they quit listing them most places on the site. Go in by Car Make/Model/Year and there is a Specs link along with the price etc.

I did that, but when I click on RE010, there's no link for specs. And there's no link at all for the A022H that are displayed.

This is not really a big deal, though. (Although I was just curious how that one size would show a decrease in size vs a 2.6 percent increase...)

Thanks.

As I previously mentioned, with the Bridgestone figures, the outer diameter of the tire is exactly what you would calculate based on the tire size (wheel diameter plus sidewall height based on tread width and profile). But the revs per mile is off, probably due to their adjustment for deflection due to the weight of the car.

This is also true of the Yokohama numbers, whose outer diameter is within a tenth of an inch of the Bridgestone numbers... with one exception. The Yokohama outer diameter figure for the 225/50ZR16 is shown as almost a full inch larger than the corresponding Bridgestone figure (25.7 vs 24.8), with a resulting large difference in revs per mile between the brands. This is almost certainly due to an error in the specs shown for the Yokohama in the 225/50ZR16 size. Use the figures for the Bridgestone RE010 and your figures will be virtually the same as the ones produced by Powerdog.

So with the 18/19 setup using Front 18x8.0 offset @ 45 & Rear 19x10 offset @ 45 with Front: 225/35/18 Rear: 275/30/19 tires, this should not scrub right? I'm really considering this setup and don't want to get myself into a bind finding out they don't fit!

Electro,

I am trying to fit on 18X7.5 with 225/35/18's on the front and 18X8.5 with 255/35/18 on the rear.

Konig Imagine Wheels.

Rears fit fine.

Fronts hit the caliper. I have ordered the Dali Racing front spacers to try and get the front wheels to fit. I will let everyone know (plus post some pics and such) how it all works out later this week when I get everything on (hopefully). I am also putting in a aluminum dash kit, so I'll take some pictures of that.

Wait for me to make all the mistakes before you do.

BTW, Hugo at Ed Voyles is doing all the work, my rims and tires are sitting around the dealer right now. I know that you referred me to them, thanks for that, they did a really nice job with the exhaust, intake, and sway install.

Electro: Bud I already told you that I have those wheels and you will not have any problems. That's why I told you in your case because your set up is different than mine. My Blitz wheels are 18x8.0 ET10 19x10 et15 because I have the wide fenders. For the stock NSX with those wheels the front is 18x8.0 et45 Rear 18x10 et45

I'm the Konig distributor for Panama, Just make sure that the rear wheel that you are getting is the one they have for the Mustang which is 18x8.5 low offest, that way you should be fine, on the front one there is no problem since the wheel is ET45. Are you buying the Black Opal finish?

Enrique, LOL Oops! Didn't see your reply before I posted that...

Thanks for all your help! -Now I just need to justify the increased tire expense and risk of damaging the rims on the streets of Downtown Atlanta!

Lofwyr, Yeah Hugo knows his stuff! Unfortunately he's been having some heart problems and has to go into surgery soon!

hopefully he'll be alright!

About the rims, I'm looking at getting the blitz technospeed Z1's...18/19 setup. Those are PHAT!

Peace, -Electro

Hmm,

Don't know if Discount Tire sent me the "low profile" rears, but the rears work fine, it is the fronts that don't fit correctly. They won't even turn when installed because they contact the brake caliper. I've ordered Dali's 8mm front spacers to try and get them to fit. I got the silver finish, I got to see them partially installed on the car and they look *so* nice....dammit, I want them on now!

I meant 35.. not 30.. my bad

I've got 18x7.5 wheels with a +42 offset.. will that not rub with 225-35-18 tires?

I just called Tirerack and they say that they specificallly recommended I didn't buy the tires! I talked to some customer service weanie and didn't get anywhere. Fact of the matter is, I told them the size... the guy asked if they were aftermarket rims... I said yes.. he said ok... order placed. End of story. So now they want me to send the tires back for inspection to make sure they're resellable and then they will send out the other size. I have to pay for shipping of course. I'm going to make an attempt to get a higher level of service tomorrow, but if that doesn't work I guess I'm out of luck.

The most important question I have is... Will they be able to tell the tire was already mounted? It was NOT driven on but it was on the wheel.

thanks,
Rob

I think what matters is whether it was driven on, not whether it was mounted.

I don't believe anyone has addressed whether or not 215/35-18 for the fronts would work, I guess they definitely will work if the 225's work or come close to working, so why not check this size out. 215 might also be a better tire width for a 7.5" rim width. I believe from my tire search, this size is readily available from several manufacturers along w/applicable sizes for the rear (265 or 275/30-19).
