Greetings members!

I've recently installed 02 Valance with my Arc Titanium Dual Tip Exhaust.
The tip of the exhaust is leaning on the valance.

Would it damage the valance?
If yes, is it possible to swap single tips on the system even though it's titanium
or should I look for another exhaust system?

Picture below to explain it better.
Open to any and all suggestions:)

Time to shop exhausts. That valence will melt. Have you tried adjusting the exhaust via the hangers?

Wow, some things wrong with either one of them. I have seen these two centered most of the time. Is the other side centered also? If it is close to the right, you may be able to adjust. Also, are you using test pipes? Some test pipes are off by a bit.

Hello, its funny that you posted this. I had nearly the exact same problem that I had to overcome. I've got a 92' with the exact ARC exhaust. My exhaust was slightly crooked (it may have gotten hit with the preveous owner). It actually melted the 92' valence over time. You couldn't see the damage until it was on a lift. However, I have recently done a complete 02-05 facelift. As soon as the rear valence was put on, it was clear that it wouldn't work. Not to mention my exhaust was a little crooked. The solution was as follows. Mike Tolle (he builds the Comptech or CT exhausts) is local to me in Sacramento. He can weld titanium and is an expert with exhausts and rollcages. I found two titanium megaphones (simple cones basically) on line. They were a little tough to find but well worth it. Mike cut my exhaust and welded on. He straightened the exhaust and it all came out beautiful. now instead of quads I've got twins that fit and look very nice. I would be happy to share any info with you that you may need.

The quad tip ARC exhaust is made for the Oem 91-01 rear valance. For the cost and trouble of cutting and welding new tips on, you are better off selling the exhaust you have now and get something else that fits under your 02 rear valance.

Jlinks: You're right on on time to shop for new exhaust. Hangers wouldn't budge. Thanks for the tip though!
saansijack: both sides are leaning towards the insides and no test pipes. Thanks for your input though!
737driver: Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one! If only I had someone like Mike Tolle in town. :(
flexthatdx: Totally agree.

Final decision: Ordered Pride V2. I'll keep the ARC TI for now. :)

To adjust left to right, you need to loosen up the bolts and play with the fitment a bit before you torque down. For up and down adjustment use this:

I have a pair installed in conjunction with my ARC dual tip and it made fitment 10x better. Also helped a local owner with his poor fitting ARC with Dave's hangers as well. Not all ARC titanium exhausts have exact fitment across the board. Also be sure to check you are running correct year test pipes if you have them, if you are running oem exhaust manifolds and cats then the issue is the exhaust. Hope this helps.

My twin tip ARC Ti fits with ample room on each side on the Seibon rear valance. Haven't tried on the 02 though. I suppose I could take a pic later if anyone is interested.

Yes a picture would be appreciated. I've installed the Pride V2 system now and it's touching the top of the valance now. Just waiting for my 5 hole hangers to arrive so I can make some adjustments.

i have the same issue on my Gt-One V3 Titan... it started melting my OEM 02+ valance. :( I'm probably going to end up selling the exhaust.

:( Hope you don't have to go through the same thing I went through.

Let me know if you plan on selling your exhaust ;)

Definitely will do. :)

Damn I just bought a bunch of hangers online LOL.
But will keep your link handy. Thanks!
I have the Pride V2 installed already, now needs height adjustment as it's touching the top of the valance and i can smell a burning plastic smell when i drove the car home from the shop.

As expensive as these Arc/Gt-one exhaust are they should fit perfect without too much finagling...

@VTAK - the later or last sets of ARCs seems to fit pretty bang on using the OEM hangers. Though, this is the dual tip not the single tip. Single being more popular for the 02+ valance for obvious reasons. I have this on my car while I think of another custom valvetronic exhaust for a potential NA motor.

@MexiRicer - you probably have already considered this but just wanted to mention (not trying to be a dick) that the adjustable hangers puts stress on the structure of the exhaust itself. Titanium is especially brittle and it's often why the ARCs split along the ends where the tubes are welded onto the cannister. To remove as much stress as possible on the unit one should use flex joints, which help some, but the goal would be to 'hang' the exhaust and to reduce as much of the pulling and tugging on the hangers which puts stress on the tubes/cannister and that stress works it's way all the to the headers and cylinder heads. I might be over thinking this but you're probably aware that the "blown" ARC's tend to tear at the side seams. Hopefully not much stress is on your unit if any.

Thanks for looking out Regan. Thankfully I am running the Na2 version that utilizes slip joints. This allows more flex when compared to a straight welded exhaust. Of course, there isnt much stress on my exhaust at all, in fact, fitment was 90% with oem hangers, ct headers and arc test pipes. Just a little adjustment and better fitment with Dave's hangers, I am happy with them.
