02+ front bumper question

I dont know if this has been raised before, couldn't find anything in the search files, but does anyone know if the lower part of the 02 bumper will join to the top of the pre 02?

It is a seperate part and by studying photo's it looks like it 'might' fit.

Interested to know if anyone has attempted to do this.

My advise would be to make a copy of the top part of the bumper from FRP and then mod the copy. This would save the original part and it's hard to modify the plastic bumper with fibre glass as it will tend to crack again (plastic flex under the hot sun). Below is the pic of how mind was modified. I'm getting GT-One bumper next year.

Note that the OP was asking how fit an '02+ LOWER onto a pre-02 top half, not quite the same thing as how to accommodate 02+ lights with a pre-02 top half.

I know the side sills and rear valance are simple bolt on replacements. What I'm hoping to acheive is an 02 upgrade but retaining the pop-ups.

Have you any further info on the type of surgery required?

I'm guessing it would be around the centre intake 'grille' as the NA2 is angled rather than upright as on the NA1??

Any help appreciated.
