How do you preserve your car?

Here's the link to the thread where you can get Gabriel's drop-in cover piece for the defroster trim that cracks on all NSXs. He's running a special, $200 shipped. If you like the looks I understand the quality, fit, and packing are absolutely top-rate and install is a snap. That's just based on...

    NSX Secrets?

You can still get NA2 battery tie-downs which work fine on earlier models. The insulation that lines the coupe engine cover is inexpensive and replaceable. However it is also out of stock and no longer available. If the cover itself has flock worn away, it can be touched up with black flocking...

Newbie questions; clutch feel, power steering feel, 1st gear.

I agree, compared to a stock Civic. It took me a while to get used to the clutch and I still occasionally am less smooth in my engagement than I would like to be. My son, on the other hand, finds the clutch very forgiving. But he has a beast of an EVO-8 with a six-puck.

    NSX owners sure seem handy!

I suspect the majority of NSX owners either have owned other collectibles or "grew up" modifying newer imports. Either way they have developed mechanical skills over the years. For me it was the latter, although I didn't start "growing up" until I was in my late 40s. It all started when I bought...

    4C vs. NSX

The 4C is drop-dead gorgeous. But it will punish your backside and your wallet. It IS, after all, an Alpha. At least it will take longer for the carbon fiber monocoque to rust than, say, a Giulia. (If I sound bitter it's because I've never had the pleasure of driving an Alpha of any type.)

Newbie questions; clutch feel, power steering feel, 1st gear.

Regarding the clutch: Unless it has bee swapped out for a 97+ clutch (which also requires an adapter kit of some kind), your 95 has a dual disc clutch which has two friction plates sandwiching a center plate that is connected to the flywheel. Dual disc clutches have a different feel and can take...

    NA2 Exhaust on NA1

You have a couple of options. You can get a good muffler shop to fab up some adapters to go between your 02+ headers and your old cats connected to the 97 muffler. Or you can get 02+ cats and an 02+ muffler. I don't have to tell you which option would be less expensive. Too bad you are in CA, or...

    NA1 NSX-R Manifold Cover Plate

NA1 NSX-R REPLICA Manifold Cover Plate CORRECTED This is an NSX-R REPLICA manifold cover plate. A potential buyer compared a detailed photo I sent to a known JDM NSX-R plate and found slight differences in the finish of the "H" and the plate itself. It appears this is, in fact, a USDM plate...

Someone burst my bubble, am I crazy for getting such an old car?

Where are you located? Given that, someone might be able to recommend a truly qualified tech to do the PPI. If you have budgeted 5 grand to get your next car on the road you can spend 1/20th of that on a really good PPI and save most of the rest for future maintenance. Be patient in your...

What on EARTH is going on with NSX prices right meow?

It is safe to say that prices on 91s have gone up in the last year but not 10K. Then again, the only thing you could get even three years ago for 20K was a beater with a salvage title or, from a desperate used car dealer, something in so-so condition with a ton of miles on it and needs. Average...

Suspension aftermarket or factory replacement? First Post

Some thoughts from the deep South: 1. Timing belt and water pump -- Recommended service interval is 90,000 miles or six years (72 months), but with extremely low mileage I think a longer time interval is acceptable. The maintenance schedule is in your owner's manual and in the Prime wiki. I'm...

Curious why so many 02+ Silver cars for sale lately?

Easy to see why they made so many silver compared to other colors. By the turn of the century (seems odd to be saying that) black and red had fallen out of favor generally among car buyers and silver was getting hot. The NSX looks great in all silver livery. And it's easy to care for compared...

How do you preserve your car?

Lots of good tips. robbiedawg's a/c tip should be standard procedure for all air conditioned cars. Per the owner's manual, when closing the trunk (boot) lid, lower it gently to the latch, then press down to close. I don't think this works (or is necessary) for the front lid but I'd like to hear...
